Bobby Holik bought out Rangers

New York - New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced Friday the organization has exercised its buyout option on the contract of Bobby Holik, as per the new collective bargaining agreement. Terms of the buyout agreement were not disclosed.

Holik, 34, appeared in 146 regular season games with the Rangers, registering 41 goals and 50 assists for 91 points, along with 146 penalty minutes. In 2003-04, he led the club with 25 goals, 31 assists and 56 points and was named the team's most valuable player.

A veteran of 14 NHL seasons, Holik has skated in 1,024 games with the Hartford Whalers, New Jersey Devils and Rangers, registering 281 goals and 361 assists for 642 points, along with 1,102 penalty minutes.

Holik, who was slated to earn $6.726 million this year, won a pair of Stanley Cups when he was with the Devils.

No surprise. what about Kaspar, he was supposed to get the BO as well.
