Wild close to deal with O'Sullivan

The Minnesota Wild and center Patrick O'Sullivan are closing in on a deal that expects to be finalized this morning, reports the Twin Cities Star Tribune. Mark Guy, one of the agents representing O'Sullivan, said the two sides were "pretty much done" with a three-year deal for O'Sullivan, the Wild's second-round draft choice in 2003.
"It should pretty much be done by [this] morning," Guy told the Star Tribune. "Nothing is signed yet; there are a few minor details to work out."
If the Wild fail to sign O'Sullivan by today's 5pm (ET) deadline, O'Sullivan could opt to re-enter this year's draft.
The anticipated three-year deal includes components for O'Sullivan whether he plays in the NHL next season or in the minors. O'Sullivan is eligible to earn up to $942,400 in base salary, the maximum salary issued to 2003 draftees, with up to 30 percent of that guaranteed.
"We worked through the issues," Guy said. "In the end, I think it's a pretty good deal for both sides." In four seasons with the Mississauga Ice Dogs of the Ontario Hockey League, Sullivan averaged 37 goals and 86 points.
