Panthers to try for Naslund?

Canucks fans would love to see superstar Markus Naslund ink a new deal with their favorite team, but the Vancouver Province reports the unrestricted free agent will most definitely be entertaining offers from around the league this summer. "Right now, the plans call for Markus and I to meet in New York to talk about the future and he will make his decision from there," Naslund's agent Mike Gillis told the paper. "I haven't seen the new CBA yet -- that won't happen until (today) -- but the league is going to have to set a series of deadline dates and from there we will act accordingly."
Gillis refused to discuss possible landing places other than Vancouver, but the Province suggests the Florida Panthers will be hot on his trail.
Panthers owner Alan Cohen is on record as saying he doesn't mind spending money to create a winner, meaning Florida can't be discounted as one of Canucks GM Dave Nonis's chief rivals for Naslund's services.
