View Full Version : Nolan Out To Screw The leaf

Does anyone find it somewhat curious that Owen Nolan has chosen next Tuesday to have knee surgery, right in the middle of the narrow window of six days that management has to buyout unwanted contracts?
And Owen has made sure his swollen knee is tied back to an on ice incident in 2004. Nolan can turn down any leaf proposed buyout if he is injured. Nolan may insist on full salary for last season and full salary for the coming season which could cost the Stupid leaf almost $12 million. That would be $12 million they'll have to dole out or else risk having Nolan's salary of $5.6 million count against the cap.
So what has the damaged and injury prone Nolan accomplished in a laff uniform? Some might argue he's already screwed the Stupid leaf real good.

I guess it was only a matter of time before the stupid Leaf got their comeupins'.
This is one Leafer that doesn't hold a whole lot of stock in Nolan. If the Leafs really are 'god's' team then maybe his leg will fall off.

Serves em right, eh hatred? Hows the subway diet going? Are you in any way similar to that poster of Jared on your wall?
Moving to trash on account of the leaf bashing tone. Please stay on topic of Nolan and the Leafs and avoid making it personal. Thanks, I appreciate it.
But I thought that the only ones that were doing the screwing were the Leafs themselves hatred?
I'm confused now!
Or are you running out of bash the Leafs propaganda...............

There's never a shortage of leaf bashing material.
Obviously there is, because now you are attacking the individual players.

No Rusty, the players are attacking the leafs now.
If Nolan is out to screw the Leafs, he isn't the first pro athlete to do it and won't be the last.
But I don't think he is the evil person being portrayed. From what I've heard, he's seen doctors and was in physical therapy. Problems do sometimes occur during physio that need to be surgically corrected.

I would have to agree with this statement. I know the timing is suspect, but if it is what they are telling us then he does deserve something for his injury. I would hope though that he doesn't set out to hinder the Leafs chances at building a team in the new system if his salary structure doesn't change, and based on his tenure in Toronto he was never publically at odds with the team and only can blame himself with his underacheivement. We'll see, the league might have a say in this as well.

I think Owen Nolan's better days are behind him. But, then again, that's what I thought of Gary Roberts, too (he sure showed me). Who the hell knows?
