JR says the deal is terrible for the players, and he's right. This is pretty much exactly what the union tried to avoid.
He also acknowledges that everyone will be making a lot of money under this CBA, even the owners. JR is really, really juiced up about the deal being signed now.
Roenick is pretty excited about the young guns and, actually, playing RW. As he said, he's happy to be going to RW with Prims and Sami (whoo!).
As for him, he said he'll be very dedicated to this coming season; he'll be coming to Philly pretty much alone, leaving his family at home (Scottsdale).
To win fans back, JR says it's important for players to make the fans feel welcome. Talking to the Flyers PR director, he wants players to come to the rink early, offering fan interaction (awesome idea). High-fiving fans down the tunnel isn't good enough anymore, the players (and the owners, in organizing these things) need to work really hard to get the fans back into the game.
As for the two leaders in this farce, JR says Bettman did amazingly as the owners' representative. Goodenow, though, was the "lightweight" in this bout, and got pwned this time.
So the rumor about him leaving is poo-pooed..
