The Cavaliers got a complimentary scorer to Lebron James in Larry Hughes who is a near elite scorer in his own right.

The Supersonics re-signed Ray Allen, which is great news for them.

The Bucks appear to have re-signed Michael Redd and also signed Bobby Simmons. The Bucks have a nice lineup forming in Bogut, Redd, Ford and Simmons.

I do not think he'll re-sign with the Cavaliers after his three year deal expires after the 2006 season. He'll become a free agent and go to some big market team, like, oh let's just say, the Knicks. :thumb:

I'm sure the Cavs will pickup their team option for the 06-07 season

Wizards made a pretty nifty move in my opinion. Traded Kwame Brown for Caron Butler and Chucky Atkins. Sure, Butler isn't Larry Hughes, but he isn't the worst to have behind Jamison and Arenas. Lakers get a bigman, but it ain't Shaq so will see how much improvement it makes.

Phil Jackson must be saying, "I came back for this sh*t!" right about now.

Anyways, the Raps and Matt Bonner seem to be miles apart on a contract. I say let him walk. If Matt can get a team like Boston to give him the mid-level then good for him, but the last thing this team needs to do is sign another overglorified bench player to a bad contract just because the fans like him (see JYD).

I agree, while Bonner played well in the first half of the season, as soon as it was known across the league that he could hit the open J, he was guarded and his stats went down. I say if he wants too much let him go, he's not going to put this team into the playoffs by any stretch of the imagination. :thumb:

Two articles of interest today.
Las Vegas to host 2007 NBA All-Star Game

NEW YORK (AP) - Las Vegas will be the site of the 2007 NBA all-star game, marking the first time the event will be held in a non-NBA city.

An official with knowledge of the decision, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed reports in the Las Vegas media that the city has been given the go-ahead to stage the league's showcase event.

Casino operators have agreed to not take bets on the game, one of the requirements the NBA laid out when the sides first began talking about placing the game in the most popular gambling destination in the United States.

The 2006 all-star game will be in Houston.

NEW YORK (AP) - The NBA's new collective bargaining agreement was finally completed and signed early Saturday, clearing the way for free agent signings to begin Tuesday.

Lawyers for the league and the players' union had been working nearly around the clock for the past several days on drafting the documents for the six-year agreement, which was agreed to in principle more than a month ago.

There already were two delays in the date for free agents to begin signing.

League lawyers will spend the next few days reviewing the agreement with teams, and signings will begin at noon EDT on Tuesday.

The salary cap will be set at $49.5 million US, an increase of $5.63 million from last season.

Raptors make offer to Duhon, sign Sow

August 9, 2005
TORONTO (AP) -- The Raptors signed free agent guard Chris Duhon to an offer sheet and resigned free agent forward Pape Sow on Tuesday.

Duhon, a second-round pick out of Duke a year ago, became a starter last season and helped the Chicago Bulls make the playoffs for the first time since 1998. He averaged 5.9 points and 4.9 assists in 82 games, 73 as a starter.

Chicago general manager John Paxson said they will more than likely match the offer for the restricted free agent.

Sow, also a second round pick, averaged 2.3 points and 2.1 rebounds in 27 games with Toronto.

It's likely the Bulls will match, but it sure would be sweet if the Raps could get their hands on a solid young player like Duhon.

The Sixers have resigned Dalembert and Korver, but with Willie Green's injury they are going to wait on him. I'm likin the way the team is looking if Webber can pull it together. Iverson, Webber, Dalembert, Igoudala, and Korver. Hopefully Green's injury isn't serious cause he is very good off the bench.

But sadly the Heat have also made that deal and now have Antoine Walker and Jayson Williams. They'll win the East since Brown is no longer coaching the Pistons.

The Raps have used the one-time buyout in the new CBA to get Mourning's contract off the books. Duhon's offer has also been matched by the Bulls.

In New York the Knicks have used their buyout to rid themselves of JYD.
