Green Bay nose tackle Grady Jackson has become the latest member of the Packers to join the roster of agent Drew Rosenhaus, and his first order of business Tuesday was to have Rosenhaus call the team seeking a new contract.
-- Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Who else is sick of this clown? Contract disputes have gone through the roof this past offseason, and most of the guys holding out are his clients. With a guy like Javon Walker I can completely understand him holding out. He's established himself as one of the best receiver in the league, but he's still making peanuts. However, guys like Owens and Jackson are trying to renegotiate contracts that they signed just last season!!!!! Surely your value couldn't have gone up that much in one year  I hope both teams hold their ground with Drew, and if that means the Eagles offense goes to sh*t, and the Packer defense gets even worse, so be it :curse:

Edit--I'm usually not one to get bent out of shape over these things, but it seems like everyday you go to CNNSI or ESPN and you see another playing has hired Rosenhaus to be their agent, and a hold out is likely.

Yeah this Rosenhaus guys seems to be a real *$#& disturber doesn't he. But, as a player agent he's just doing his job trying to get the most for his clients.

I read a pretty long and interesting piece about Rosenhaus over at espn.com... you might still be able to find it with a search there.

His philosophy is that in the NFL, contracts are not guaranteed. Teams can bail out on a player without consequence whenever they feel like it... so it should be a 2-way street. Players should get new contracts when they exceed expectations (in his judgement).

He is a fascinating character. One of those rare people who was meant to be a mogul. He's got his brother and one other person in his agency... that's it. He takes almost all calls personally. Works without sleeping. He's got drive and he's a pit bull.

Yeah I hate him because I hate when players like TO hold out on a contract they signed just last year. But there's a reason players are flocking to him. Another thing I noticed is that ALL other NFL agents despise the man. But that doesn't bother Rosenhaus in the least... He sees himself like a shark, if you're bigger and badder than him.. come and get him. Otherwise you lose.

Very fascinating guy.

Great story.

As far as the NFL thing goes.. I agree with him that they should be able to renogiate at any point they want, as they're NFL players and contracts aren't guarenteed. It should be a two-way street. This isn't like Cashin sitting out in Ottawa when he had signed a contract and didn't like it, because he couldn't be cut.

I've been following the Favre / Rosenhaus battle in the media. Favre has been saying Walker needs to get to camp and Rosenhaus said in the media that Favre should call him. (Rosenhaus)

Favre didn't take kindly to that, and needless to say is not calling Rosenhaus.

Here's another article about Rosenhaus, TO, and all the other NFL hold outs.

(too long to post)
