TSN.ca Staff
The Ottawa Renegades took two of four weekly player honours Tuesday in the Canadian Football League.
Renegades quarterback Kerry Joseph is the Offensive Player of the Week after leading Ottawa to its first win of the season. Joseph completed 23 of 36 passes for 302 yards and one touchdown while rushing for two more scores. His fourth quarter efforts enabled the Renegades to score 23 unanswered points and force the game against Montreal into overtime, where they prevailed.
Saskatchewan's Corey Holmes and Edmonton's Ricky Ray were also considered for the weekly honour.
Renegades kicker Matt Kellett is the Special Teams Player of the Week. He connected on all four of his field goal attempts including a 32 yarder with one second remaining to send the game into overtime. He then connected on two more field goals to lead the Renegades to victory in double overtime.
Toronto linebacker Michael Fletcher is the Defensive Player of the Week after anchoring the Argos defence to a win last week. He had five tackles and one interception which killed a promising Stampeders drive. Fletcher also came up with a hard tackle late in the game that forced a fumble and sealed Toronto's victory. Calgary's Demetrious Maxie is the Lineman of the Week, leading the Stampeders defensive line with two sacks against the Argonauts.
