Alright, I was doing my usual searching of Hockey Headlines and while skimming through several forums for any news, I found this nugget of entertainment.

They'll Never Change (http://www.tmlfans.ca/forums/index.php?PHPSESSID=a509996f917278a43f1e640bc4d1b3 88&topic=38449.0)

Here's one of my favorites...

...so I wouldn't be surprised if the leafs have "accidentally bumped into Jason in the grocery store" and he just happened to mention how much he "loves the leafs".
Like looking into a fishbowl of idiots, ain't it?

:wicked:

Even I got a laugh from a few of those posts. I just can't believe they all took the "report" seriously. I mean, the leaf owners could get in A LOT of trouble for negotiating with a player without a CBA in place and the rest of the owners would be p!ssed to say the leafs. Now that I think about it, I wouldn't put it past leaf ownership to do so, but I still highly doubt anything I just seen is true. A lot of it is just funny to look at.

Just one post after that one.The latest from Eklund
"Player Signings
Some teams are starting to try and get a jump on FA signings...A source told me this morning this:"once the lockout has ended the Leafs will announce the signings of Jason Allison and Byron Dafoe." http://www.tmlfans.ca/forums/Smileys/tmlfans/wink.gifThey're quoting Eklund. I mean EKLUND!?! EKLUND!?!?!

That's exactly why you don't post at a lame one team forum. Nothing objective.

I just found this on the Sens forum but there's something a little fishy about it... Not sure what it is but I smell some BS :conspire:

According to some of my sources the Sens have already locked up Federov, Roberts and Brodeur and this will be announced on the day of the new CBA. John Fir... I mean Muckler will be announcing it

Here's one...

This is the type of deal in the CBA world we can still flex our financial muscle. If Allison signs and turns up injured we can use our reserves and buy him out. The poorer teams maybe on a more level playing field but they still lack our resources, it would take alot more handicaps for them to match us there.

Still looking, it was in the Star but I can't find the archives to leaf related stories. The only thing I can find archives too are actual reports, nothing on rumours or journalist writings. Also, Spectors doesn't have an archive page either. But Spectors was just using "the star" article also.

Rusty, are you ever going to quit crying every time someone calls out the Leafs?

Fact is, there are a helluva lot more absolutely, brian-numbingly DUMB leaf fans than anyone else. This isn't a fairly tale, it's absoulte truth, and it'd be nice if you'd buck up to that.

That aside, this is a great find Dev.

I can confirm for John that Jason Allison has indeed expressed interest in playing for Toronto. He claimed anyone who grew up in that region of Canada would love to play for the Leafs, but was also quick to point out there were a handful other teams he liked and wouldn't base his choice solely on a childhood dream. I can't find any sources either, but I do remember reading it. And seeing it on SN for that matter.

So given that, the number of dumbass leaf fans are proportionatly inline with say, oiler fans. Your a math guy, do the math ;)

So, Sens guys, I heard Federov's childhood dream is to play in Ottawa....for free.....

Federov Talking With the Leafs

Just because there?s a lockout going on doesn?t mean we have to drop the player movement rumors completely, does it?

Federov is looking to possibly join the Toronto Maple Leafs whenever the NHL starts playing again (with it?s NHLPA members).? ESPN is reporting there have even been talks between the Leafs and Federov recently.

The problem is, you can't feed a Leaf fan's appetite for news enough... so they make up rumours. Let the kids play Dev... it's not like its in your yard. =]

Yes, I understand the Leaf inferiority complex and the need to be in the spotlight at all times that leads to these Leaf-made rumours, but it's just funny as sh!t.

You post at that site don't you Amo?I think maybe 3 or 4 times. I try to keep dumbass leaf fans at arms length if I can. Its getting harder to even do that, as leaf fans split like ameba. Some turn out ok, and some turn into LeafHatred. Some that were first normal, got a team closer to home and decided to cheer for that team. Their former team keeps knocking their new team out of the playoffs, even though on paper they know they have the better team, and it just drives them crazy. So they go in search of ways to constantly put their former team down.

Now, I'm not saying you are part of this group, but you fit the profile. ;)

From space... you can clearly see the Rideau Canal system - built by Colonel Syd By in 1968 as an escape route for eastern Ontarians from fleeing the rampant Swamp Leaferatic Fever that was sweeping the St. Lawrence river valley....

How can I?

Tuesday April 13th 2004 - The Leafs who were without their best player in the series thus far, Joe Niewendyk with an ailing back, looked tired and and played with little emotion.
This game also saw the loss of captain Mats Sundin and rugged winger Darcy Tucker with injuries in the third period. Their status for game five in Toronto on Friday night is uncertain. Rest of Article (http://www.hockeynut.com/0304/playoffs2004/xf041404kf.html)

I'll argue this number exponentially increases with population, thus Toronto still has more in comparrison to other teams :)
