1. Saskatchewan Roughriders (Last week: 3)
Gang Green did it again with good defence, a great running game and solid special teams. Took some dumb penalties at the end of the fourth quarter but a win in the hammer was settled long before. Up next, the Argos in Toronto.
2. B.C. Lions (Last week: 1)
Have no fear Lion fans, your team will be at or near the top of the rankings all year. Up next, the new cardiac kids from Ottawa pay a visit. Watch out for Frank Cutolo!
3. Edmonton Eskimos (Last week: 4)
The Eskimos are making the most of a light early season sked by padding their record and stats. Friday's game in Montreal against the bitter Als wil be a good test.
4. Toronto Argonauts (Last week: 5)
O,k so they won the game in Calgary -- big deal! What was with the bloody brawl between Robert Baker and Noel Prefontaine on the sidelines? Can't we all just get along? Assuming the Argos don't keep beating the snot out of each other, they should be fine.
5. Montreal Alouettes (Last week: 2)
The Don has some explaining to do. The Als blew a 23-point lead in the fourth quarter to Ottawa. They blew it when they went shotgun on a third-and-one gamble! Totally freaking unacceptable!
6. Ottawa Renegades (Last week: 9)
Allow me to quote George Patton when describing the Renegades amazing comeback win over the Als: "God help me I love it so." I love Frank Cutolo. I love seeing Matt Kellet stick it to his old team and I love that there's something positive to build on in Ottawa.
7. Hamilton Tiger-Cats (Last week: 6)
Severe lack of offence and discipline is not the way to beat a team like the Roughriders. And no true No. 1 QB is becoming a huge issue in Hamilton. A bye week is most welcome in the Hammer.
8. Calgary Stampeders (Last week: 7)
The Stamps showed the rust of a team that had a bye in week 1 and had to wait so long to start the regular season. Up next the Blue Bombers.
9. Winnipeg Blue Bombers (Last week: 8 )
Welcome to the CFL Tee Martin. Oh my, what a mess in the 'Peg. Poor Jim Daley better find a way to get the lads to start playing for him or he won't be around to see it all the way through.
