WINNIPEG (CP) - Wide receiver Jason Tucker set an Edmonton record with a 105-yard touchdown reception as the Eskimos defeated the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 27-8 Thursday night.
With Edmonton starting at its five-yard line to open the second half, quarterback Ricky Ray tossed a 25-yard pass to Tucker, who sped the rest of the way untouched down the side of the field in front of 22,087 spectators at Canad Inns Stadium.
The previous club record was set by Henry (Gizmo) Williams on a 102-yard play with quarterback Damon Allen in 1993.
Edmonton (2-0) won a CFL game in Winnipeg (0-2) for the first time since Aug. 13, 1999.
Ray completed 28 of 40 passes for 469 yards, including a 19-yard TD pass to Derrell Mitchell with just over two minutes remaining in the game.

I wonder if there is still any doubt as to who is the CFL's best quarterback. There damn well shouldn't be. Ray shreds another team for well over 400 yards. Tonight the defence was great again, only holding the so-called Bombers to single digits. I sure was loving it. No complaints. I'm definitely looking forward to next Friday at Montr?al.
