well, its time for a poll. so whats better than a great discussion about when this stupid lockout will be finished by.
Vote in the poll, and share your thoughts. For me, I think it will get resolved sometime this summer, july or august maybe??
I voted for 2005-2006 season time frame (October-April) because I think both sides will continue to hold out and hope the other cracks. If anything, I believe it will be end of September or mid October 2005 when the new CBA is agreed upon because neither side wants another season shortened or cancelled.

I voted the same way. I have a feeling that we shall see hockey starting in Oct or Nov.

January 2006 or later.
It appears that they are "close" now, but more issues will come about and Goodenow will still want a "linkage" that could never decrease the cap, only increase it...
Summer 2005.
The players lost a rediculous amount of money, and they'll realize they stand to lose much, much more than gain by extending the lockout.
I am really holding my hopes up that training camps open on schedule in September with this nightmare behind us.

They'd better have it done by October, otherwise they are going to dig themselves even further into oblivion. Both sides need to stop for a second and think about the good of the game rather then themselves, only then will a deal get done, otherwise we mightaswell hope the WHA doesn't bomb.
This summer. Once the replacement players are in place, it won't be a lockout anymore. ;)

I agree totally, Insider. The two sides better have something in place before the start of next training camp but I'm doubtful. Hopefully, I'm wrong (I picked summer of 2005).

I'm guessing summer 2006 at the earliest.! The owners are committed to getting cost certanty, and the players, well they just keep digging their own grave deeper with each passing day. They keep waiting for the owners to cave as they have in the past ,but this time they are sadly mistaken and will wait another year under Goodenowsdirection before they come to the realization that they have cost themselves dearly. They'll end up signing for consederable less than they could have gotten back in sept 2004,thus costing Goodenow his job.

September 2005 we will have a season
No replacement players, a deal will get done
The Canucks will finally stock the team with the missing pieces, and shall meet the re-jeuvented Habs in the Stanley Cup final
The winning team? Thats a surprise

September 2005. With this new rumor that the players have introduced a concept that looks like linkage has me optimistic.

apparently if not in October - January etc. I don't think - despite a lot of owners wanting it to happen, that they are going to go with replacement players. Plus there is no impasse anymore, which means, they've gotta get off their buts, talk and so on and so forth.
I'm optimistic that something will get done in time for the season to start, but I don't know if everything will be in place to start exactly on time.

I voted for summer 2k5. I'm hoping that it'll get worked out in time for a regular season which would start on time. Optimism without cause maybe?
I also voted summer 2005.
Both sides must be aware of what it is doing to the fan base and the bottom line, which is profits.
