View Full Version : Canada's Walk of Fame

The Canadian Walk of Fame is located in downtown Toronto. Prestigious members have been honored since 1998. So far the likes of Howe, Richard, Beliveau, Gretzky, Lemieux and Orr, among other great Canadians have been graced with their own stone.

Though the Walk of Fame is located in Toronto, one great tribute to it being special is it is completely leafless. Yup, no stupid leafs on the Walk of Fame.

In Canada's biggest city and biggest hockey market in the world, the Stupid leaf is unrepresented and no member has ever played a single leaf game.

Check out the complete leafless list at canadaswalkoffame.com

LH you sound a little down on the old bleu et blanc today. Just think positive thoughts. Not even old "tape to tape" Jyrki Lumme in the walk of fame eh?

Not even leaf fan favourite, Walt Puddubny. Shame

I guess Jyrki will have to be happy with his "celebrated" status in Vancouver.

# His celebrated years in Vancouver landed him the honour of being selected as one of the 30 greatest Canucks of all time
# Voted Canucks most outstanding defenceman (1993-94)
# Led Vancouver to the Stanley Cup Finals playing in all 24 playoff games (1993-94)

What about from the past? Guys like Dave Keon who gives the finger up to the Stupid leaf to this very day.

I think Keon deserves a stone on the Walk of Fame, for his magnanimous effort to reject the Stupid leaf.

Keon. I agree. Sundin too.

Hey, if there's room for Walter Ostanek the Polka King and Michael J. Fox the Putz King, than I'm sure they'll make room for a guy like Bower one day... and throw in a Tim Horton for good product placement.

Cujo...or as I used to call him when he'd send us Sens fans to the bottle with his legendary goaltending against us in the playoffs, %$#$@-head!

Cujo? ..nah. As mentioned before, it was Lumme's stiffening defensive play that led the way to the popular misperception of Curtis' goaltending abilities. =]

So it's true then, Lumme carried Cujo?
Hmm, it's a wonder that Lumme never got ghost nominated for the Norris like current Leaf Chowder head Bryan McCabe...

No. They were doing a scene from McCabe's independant film "Long Live the Can-opener".
However, you might be more familiar with the Title it was released under in Toronto - "What do you mean it's a tripping penalty I can't believe this it's just because McCabe plays for ther Leafs isn't it?!?!?!?!"

See in Ottawa we know the Redden film as "It's Baby Power, I swear!" There is a hotel in Vanier with a plaque that celebrates being the location for the film's climatic finale...

I am looking forward to going out into the woods with my fifthwheel and sat dish.

Also my son is graduating and moving onto University, so we will be busy moving him down to Calgary in Aug. Also I finally got one wish in my Military career, they are allowing me to go back to overhauling Jet engines so I have to train a couple of others to replace me here on the ejection seats.

I just might take that advice grimster, if you haven't noticed I have been posting less and less at certain forums.

Congratulations. Sounds like several good things Rusty. A change is as good as a rest... as they say. And last time I lurked at "certain forums"... "certain forums" seemed like an ... overtightly regulated place ideal for teenagers. So the last time you leave the ejection seat area... will you use an ejection seat to leave? :]
