It's Gameday! (http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=230370&hubname=)

The Canucks have returned from their hockey dads road trip and host the struggling Detroit Red Wings.

It's a story about two teams with similar fates at different times. As the Canucks have struggled without Mattias Ohlund, Sami Salo, Kevin Bieksa, and Lukas Krajicek at times this year. The Red Wings tonight have got Lidstrom, Kronwall, and supposedly Chelios on the bumps and bruises list. The Wings are relying on young guys like Derek Meech to make a contribution.

Hopefully the Canucks take advantage of the Wing's similar hardship who I believe have only one a single game of their last eight.

Even though the Wings are banged up, they can still put the puck in the net. They were shutout against Calgary, and Luongo tonight is going to have the tough task tonight of once again keeping everything and the kitchen sink out of his net.

Canucks are 5-2-3 in their last ten, not bad

I hope they can pull out a win, for the 4th straight time

Shannon and Raymond continue to impress

Bieksa will have a strong game

This is a huge game. The Wings come in hurting, and having played the night before, so the Canucks HAVE to take advantage of this and get the two points. But. They don't hurt themselves by leaving a point on the table for the Wings, so expect a conservative, low scoring game.

As well as Luongo is playing, Osgood is on that list of Canuck killers. If he plays, I'll say 2-1 Canucks in OT. If they go with Howard, I'll say 4-1 Canucks, with the fourth into the empty net.

Hurting Red Wings + HNIC + dads in the stands = 4-0 Nucks.

Nice work Gordo. The team played with a chip on their shoulder, and they came out of the game with two points.

The second period was cause for worry, but this game was called incredibly tight. The refs didn't want another game like last Saturday, and they kept it in line.

If Rafalski and Lidstrom were in the line up, the game might have been different after the 5 on 3.

What killed me was the elbowing call on Bieksa...he creamed his own player and they gave him a penalty. I can see what the refs were trying to do, but they were way overboard in that game and need to be reprimanded for it.
