Things look to be getting better for the Rangers. 7 out of the last possible 8 points.

Locking up Lundqvist, Tyutin & Girardi was great.

Me thinks the track has broken. Either that or the Rags must be riding the CN tracks around Toronto.

I don't know what's more enjoyable, the Rangers blowing a 5-0 lead or the Flyers falling apart again. :D

The Flyers have been hit hard with the injury bug. Lupul, Gagne for the season, and now Richards is gone for 3 weels or so. IF they keep this up they may be golfing in April again.

Ofcourse everything looks peachy when you are at the top looking down like your Devils are.

Amazingly it's the first time since 2001 that they've been #1 in the East. But none of that really matters to me as a Devils fan. As God...I mean Lou Lamoriello once put it, "Anything less than the Cup feels like failure."

Super Lou went out and got a good rugged D-man to shore up his back end and got rid of a guy who hardly ever plays, and when he does costs his team penalties. NJ is one of the top 4 teams to beat in the east for sure. If Ottawa doesn't get their sh*t together soon then that number would drop to 3 with only MOntreal, who has goalie questions, and Pittsburg through sheer fire power, being the only other teams that look able to come out of the east. It is so sad in the East that the Leafs(players) are still thinking about making the playoffs. Rediculous!

The Rangers did add some players on deadline day. Sjostrom, I like, and I hope he gets more ice time in NY and improves his game. Could be a good addition for the playoffs. Unfortunatly I think NYR's defense is a bit young for them to go far in the post season.

I seriously hope Washington added enough to make it into the post season. But if Fedorov can't produce with Nash not much more can be expected with Ovechkin.

I agree with all that. Don't know what's going on up in Ottawa, but I'm sure they get back on track for a playoff run soon enough. New Jersey well what can you say they always seem to be legit regardless of roster changes. Lou knows. Hell the guy helps draw up the salary cap system and at the same time is the best in the league bar none at escaping it's contstraints for his own benefit... Pittsburgh picking up Hossa and Dupuis without giving up any keys in return is scary. They can afford picks right now. They just keep getting better on paper... it's only a matter of time till Pittsburgh is THE NHL power house to beat. Sucks for me cause they're in Rangers division, but I will say that it's not bad to see that the franchise have a lot of good fortune since winning Crosby in the lotto. Before that they were an illustration of what was wrong with small market NHL in the U.S. Now they will be a big attraction for many years.

Yup and it's gonna get younger when Sanguinetti comes up. Realistically I think Tyutin is there, Girardi come a long way but still developing. Staal is a rookie. Sanguinetti is in the OHL. We're still looking at years until those pieces fall into place.

Backman was the guy they were able to get yesterday to help on D, and I do think it's an improvement - but how much impact he has, I'm not too sure I'll wait and see. I would have liked to get Campbell, but at what price?

IMO Washington did not improve much yesterday.

I really like the defense of the Rangers but I think they are a good 2-4 years away from being one of the better units in the league. If the young guys step up and Lundqvist stands on his head I could see them in the second round, but it really depends on who they line up against.

I think the biggest improvement for Washington was the addition of Huet. Kolzig hasn't been cutting it this year, and with some more solid goaltending they may win a few games that would have otherwise slipped away. I would look for them to sign Huet to a two year deal this summer, depending on his performance. It is going to be a tough haul to get into the East. It seems to tighten up more everyday. I would just like to see AO get a taste of the post season, if only to see how pumped up he gets. That said, if his scoring slump continues then I think any hopes of playing more than 82 games is gone.

7-0-2 last 9 and 10-2-2 last 14 and the 2 new guys both scored today.

4 points behind the Devils now.

Cant figure out these Rangers did the same thing last season. Anyway there a good team to watch again.
