What do you guys think about this? When it comes to a child being born, even for athletes there is a right to choose family first.

Instead of talking about how Luongo should or shouldn't play on the game based on the condition that he has a child being born, why don't we have a more practical discussion about how Luongo will be perceived after having made this choice.

Do you think missing a publicity stunt like the All Star game will hurt him in his bid for the Hart or Vezina this season whether or not that should factor in the decision?

Do you think Luongo will have some rust to shake off after the long rest costing this team valueable points in the race for the Northwest Division?

Methinks that Iginla will get the Hart vote. He is the biggest reason that Calgary is in a playoff spot right now, and he is doing it for a coach not know for nurturing or coddling of star players. As for the Vezina, if I recall the gm's vote for that one and the stats and some objectivity will come into play here as opposed to the media or fan votes, so taking some personal time will not hurt him. As for Roberto being rusty after a break, Sanford has played well when called upon and the rest of the team will need to play that much better in order to not slip in the standings and to prove the doubters wrong.
