For the first time since I can't remember, the Islanders visit the Canucks. A rematch of the 1982 Cup final, I think not, but much of the look of the present Canucks is courtesy of the Islanders. Luongo via Florida, and via Linden for Bertuzzi, McCabe and a draft pick and McCabe went a first round pick that became one of the Sedins. Thanks to Mike Keenan and Mike Milbury:thumb:

McIver was recalled, and supposed Edler is due to sit out the game.

I guess the recall means Ohlund will not return tonight, and that gives us reason to worry about having a Swede-less blueline tonight.

Well that was an insane period of hockey! 19 shots!! Unreal. And once it was over my stomach fell. And baaaammm, it turns into a shitshow. Pucks going in from all over. Man that scared me. I thought we might loose this one on a stupid stupid goal.

Cooke! Gotta bury those man! That's crazy having a wide open net like that.

Sure liked Pyatt Jaffrey and Naslund. They're great...as toni used to say. Mason with the Twins....Holydynashitstorm that was some great shits they had last night. WOW.

One thing about Raymond and Jaffrey I am concerned about is they seem to have their heads down a lot! And they're getting hit for it. Wont be long before one of them gets real hurt if they don't start learning from this pronto.

Looking forward to the Sharks game for some reason.

A few of points. 1) Obviously Luongo did not get the memo about his not handling the puck!
2) Two former Kelwona Rockets:boogie: figured in the Shoot Out, Alex Edler scores for the good guys and Blake Comeau missed on the Islanders lst attempt.
3) Markus Naslund should never again be on a shoot out list!

No kidding. He looked liked he just didn't care one way or the other. Fair enough, I say. For the players that despise the shoot-out, I say respect their feelings on it and leave them out of it. I certainly wouldn't want to be involved that circus BS if I had spent 20 years clawing my way into the NHL.

Well let's not be that hard on Naslund, after all he did score a goal last night...

Agreed with Badcock about Raymond and Jaffray, those guys get hit hard when they aren't necessarily in a vulnerable position. However in the NHL they'll have to get used to playing with their heads up to avoid getting leveled when they're searching for the puck.

And Rusty I didn't know you examined what the Canucks top line leaves in the comode.

On the glass is half full view of the game, Luongo had a so/so night and the team bailed him out, namely Daniel's goal and Linden and Edler in the shoot out. Additionally the new lines, if all players play to thier potential could be scoring threats, raymond's speed with the Sedin's and if Pyatt uses his size and speed it can create some opportunities for Naslund such as last nights first goal which included some nice work by Jaffray.
