I'm foreseeing the future here ladies, as the Redskins will pull out a noteworthy performance to only square off with the Wisconsin boys, while clash of the titans New England and Indianapolis engage war. Clinton Portis tests positive for marijuana use, the league is forced to take stern action - 1 Game suspension. A Portis-less Redskins team falls short to the mighty cheese. Game Note: The Lambeau Leap left Santana Moss bruised and battered. Day-to-day with two broken arms. New England sends the Colts packing proving that grown men can be babies too ie: Peyton Manning pouting after their 38-3 spanking to the Patriots. A much anticipated game as the Superbowl drives closer. Green Bay comes out strong, Brady was in the locker room until halfway through the 1st quarter, team speculation is that he lost his lucky four leaf clover. Moss tallies four dropped balls and two turnovers. Brady just wasn't on his game, throwing away three interceptions to just one touchdown. The game ends quicky and quietly as the Packers win a out-of-reach 27-7 game. Despite the loss, Patriots receiver Randy Moss is laughing straight to the bank. Perfect season? Who needs to be perfect when you're filthy rich - Randy Moss :) Green Bay are the Superbowl Champs, the Favre story looks great on television and the media will love this "cinderella story". An autobiographical book, feature film and cartoon are already in the works.

AFC playoffs:
San Diego over Tennessee
Jacksonville over Pittsburgh
New England over Jacksonville
San Diego over Indianapolis
New England over San Diego
Sorry I dont see anything to change out of any of your AFC picks.
NFC playoffs:
Seattle over Washington
New York over Tampa Bay
Dallas over New York
Seattle over Green Bay
Dallas over Seattle
NFC is a different story.
Super Bowl:
New England over Dallas
In the end the Patriots should win it all, as expected. If someone stops them it will be San Diego, Dallas, or maybe Jacksonville IMO.

The Cowboys have struggled over the last month of the season and are, IMO, over-rated. I think they're ripe to be upset. I was kind of hoping the Hawks would slip down to the 4th seed so they'd have a shot at drawing Dallas in the Divisional game. Seattle can't win at Lambeau in the winter because they have a defense that relies on speed and gets neutralized on slow, frozen turf. And I only give them the win ober Washington because the game is in Seattle. The Seahawks are just too inconsistent right now to return to the NFC Championship.
I think the NFC belongs to Favre this season. Only Brady's season for the ages will deny Favre the MVP this year, not too bad for a guy that was supposed to retire 2 years ago. I think we're in store for a classic Super Bowl between two of the all-time great QBs, but I think the Pats will eak out another championship. Favre will get the Super Bowl MVP while Brady will get the ring and the season MVP.

So I'll take Green Bay over the Giants in the NFC and stick with the Pats over the Chargers in the AFC. I'm perfect so far in the American Conference, so no need to change things now.

Well my record indicates why I got out of the prediction business 30 years ago.:o
The NFL must be drooling the probable Superbowl match ups of the Pats vs the Giants ( the largest TV market) or Brady vs Favre ( the sentimental favourite of most) could be a ratings and thus ad revenue bonanaza. I just don't see the Chargers knocking off the Pats in Foxboro this year.

I have done well in the AFC so far. The NFC less so.

8-2. Not bad.
Given that my two missed picks have both been the Giants, I should take them for the Super Bowl. Then again, I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid.
The Giants threw the best they had at the Pats in week 17 and couldn't beat them. I don't expect anything different come Super Sunday. Although, I think it will be more of a defensive battle this time around.
New England 24 - New York 14
Isn't it funny how once again a team from Boston is playing such a huge game, and once again it is a team from New York that stands in their way? Sports can be so strange, sometimes.
Giants 26 - Patriots 24

Congrats to the Giants. They played a hell of a football game, you can't take anything away from them. You could just tell they wanted that one, with the way they were battling for every ball, and what can you say about their defensive line?
Imagine having your sons win back to back Super Bowls and Super Bowl MVPs? I think my heart would explode with pride.
But. I still think the ball grazed the ground on that Tyree catch.
But. I still think the ball grazed the ground on that Tyree catch.
It's ok for the ball to contact the ground as long as the player retains control and the ground does not assist the catch (like a trap). That said, I don't think it touched anyway. And since it was the last 2 minutes they could have called an official review with no challenge necessary, if anyone thought it was questionable.
It was an unreal catch, I think it will be remembered among the very best clutch catches in superbowl history.
Up until that catch, I didn't seriously feel like the Giants were going to pull out the victory.
But after Manning broke loose and threw that thing out over the middle and Tyree somehow came down with it - I knew for sure the Giants were winning that game. I don't know why but I knew it for certain. It was like a knockout punch to the Patriots or something. Everything changed after that play.
