Brady, Moss enter record books
East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and wide receiver Randy Moss capped their magnificent 2007 campaign by breaking two records. The two hooked up for two scores in their game against the New York Giants Saturday night, passing Peyton Manning and Jerry Rice, respectively in the record books.
Brady found Moss for a four-yard touchdown in the second quarter, which tied and set three different records. Brady tied Manning for most touchdown passes in a season, with 49, which Manning set in 2004. Moss's TD catch was his 22nd, tying Rice's record, which was set in only 12 games during the strike- shortened 1987 campaign.
The score also put New England past the 1998 Minnesota Vikings record of 556 points in a season.
The two hooked up again, this time for 65 yards, in the fourth quarter to give both Brady and Moss the new records, with 50 TD passes and 23 scoring grabs, respectively.
More importantly, the Pats are vying to become the first team in NFL history to finish a regular season 16-0 by beating the Giants. Moss' second score put the Pats on top, 31-28, in the fourth quarter.
