Miro Satan scores his 666th point:http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2007/12/22/666-the-mark-of-the-hockey-beast/

Not that I am superstitous but...is this the end of days? :pimp:

I knew someone was going to write a news article about this.

The only way I'd start to worry would be if he's traded to the Devils. His jersey would sell like crazy.:thumb:

*waits for inevitable comment about the Devils having no fans*

YA every NJ fan would have to have one. Those ten jerseys would just fly off the rack.

:p

HAHA.

This article is stupid, only ignorant hockey fans would go so far as to crack a joke about his name. The serious hockey fans know how to pronounce his name and this stupid issue never becomes an annoyance. It's like Nik Antropov... instead of saying it like Antro-pov they say it An-trop-ov.. Jonathan Toews as well... I've heard Jonathan "Toes" before.. Not to rag, but it always seems the U.S. broadcasters are continually pronouncing names wrong and will do so until corrected, which may be a long, long time. :)

Sorry you didn't see the humour:shrug: I know how his name is pronounced, the irony of 666 points was too good to ignore. I remember when Jim Gott used to pitch against Tim Tueffel in the 1980's and there were jokes about the batlle for the universe. To each his own.

Miro Satan? Yeah. Sometimes I pronounce it Miro and other times I say Miro. You just have to remember that in his country, Mexico, an S is pronounced like a J. Just one of the hazards of being the first NHL player from South America. One of the sportscasters on a local Ottawa channel can't even pronounce veteran Senators names with guaranteed success. Manzanos? Dude! I'm sure he is paid appropriately. Jonathan Toes? I understand. That's funny because he has toes.

Some NHL names I hate...

Brind'Amour (thank god I don't have to say 'apostrophe' every time I spell out my name for someone)

Niittymaki (Huh? 50% of the name is either 'i' or 't' - blatant disregard for normal spelling patterns)

Afinogenov (pfft what? Just reading it makes me tired)

Phaneuf (god bless you)

Handzus (geshundit)

Cheechoo (OK knock it off)

Staal (The 'l' should be doubled, not the 'a'. Normally I'd let it slide, but these Staal's are popping up all over the place)

Ouellet (how you say, omelette? roulette? too many vowels)

NHL names I like:

Zidlicky (might be my all time favorite)

Boogaard (odd name for an odd man)

Knuble (I like that it's pronounced the way it looks - it would annoy me if the 'k' was silent)

Pominville (sounds like a friendly place)

Vlasic (fun to say, and popular pickle to boot)

Bonk (I wish more guys were named Bonk)
