Well, saw this last night. Was a pretty good flick. Not as good as the book mind you, but good.

Seemed to steal many elements of 28 days later and 30 days of night.
Spoilers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Disease spreads across the globe from a "cancer cure", 1% of the world is immune to it, 90% die from it, and 9% become vampire type zombies. They burn in sunlight or UV light, and feed on live humans or animals.

At this point, Neville is the only survivor we know of. He survives by day with his pet dog, and avoids dark hive area's with no windows because vampiric dudes dwell within until nightfall. He needs to take care of his dog because canines are also affected by the disease.
All in all, Im getting sick of the new vampires these days. Most are just bestial creatures who do not even act remotely human. Bring back the lost boys vampires:(

The book was better.
Well in the book There are actually two types of vampire-like dudes though, the ones that are totally bat-**** insane and the other which have learned to hold the disease at bay and are still sort of human. Why is this a problem? In the daytime both groups look exactly the same so Neville goes around and kills them indiscriminately. So basically the still-living vampires are trying to kill him to save themselves from being stabbed in the heart everytime they take a nap during the day. He's become a "legend" of sorts to the still-living vampires and thats where "I Am Legend" comes from

I remember seeing The Omega Man starring Charlton Heston on TV as a kid, except it was set in LA in the 70's.

When in doubt in Hollywood do a remake.

LOL. My parents owned it on VHS and it scared the sh!t out of me as a kid. I had no idea going into 'I Am Legend' that it was a remake and through the movie i got to thinking hey this movie seems all too familiar...

Nevertheless, I Am Legend was decent, but oscar-talks aren't necessary. I don't think it's at that level. This movie actually stressed me out more than anything while watching it.

Since the topic is movies I watched Jon Stewart's intro on the Oscars tonight. He was disappointing. He seemed almost disinterested. Last year, his first appearance as host wasn't too bad, but this was well below his personal best.

Billy Crystal where are you??
