View Full Version : The Swastika Dome
I wasn't sure where to put this. Politics, Jokes or....So I created its own thread. it is an interesting story.

The roof of the Hubert H. Humphrey (HHH) Metrodome located in Minneapolis, MN has a Swastika built into its roof!
Tim's T.V. is producing a documentary film about the Swastika symbol which can be identified at the apex of the Twin Cities HHH Metrodome. We like to refer to the Metrodome as the "Swastikadome."
It is our goal to have the Metrodome and it's Swastika replaced with a new stadium. Here is a look at the new Vikings, Twins stadium plan that would replace the Swastikadome.
The HHH Metrodome roof was designed by Nazi, Horst Berger who was born in Germany in 1925. He graduated from Stuttgart University in Stuttgart Germany in 1954. His company Geiger, Berger and Associates designed the world largest Swastika, when they designed the10 acre roof of the Metrodome.
The flag that flew over Auschwitz, Germany should not fly over the National Football League (NFL), or Major League Baseball (MLB) and the people of Minnesota. Every fan that has ever entered the Metrodome has been tricked into standing under, and into endorsing the Swastika and the atrocities it stands for. This symbol at the apex of the Metrodome is a crime against humanity. Geiger, Berger and Associates and Skidmore, Owings and Merrill the general contractor most pay for their crimes.
If True this is bad. Note: I had the image in my original post but I removed it as you can view it in the story itself and some may have found it offensive
One really has to use their imagination to see a swastika in that.... sorry but I think it is lame. :conspire:

This reminds me of the pathetic "slave ship" disaster on the Snapple bottle labels....How far can stupidity go? I haven't seen the end yet....
One really has to use their imagination to see a swastika in that.... sorry but I think it is lame. :conspire:I saw it right away, but I really don't think there was anything malicious involved here. I sure hope not anyway. And I sure hope this isn't a lame attempt to get the state to pay for a new staduim.

I can see it, but then again if we connected the dots of lights that shine in the night sky we would most likely have god himself giving us the finger!
I think these people need to get a life, quite honestly. I'm sure there are quite a few objects out there that if we looked really closely, we could make out a Swastika, or some other offensive image. This is probably nothing more than a ploy by a group of sports fans to get a new stadium, as both Vikings and Twins fans have been clamoring for one for a few years now. Pretty sad if you ask me.
I'd never heard of that before.
This reminds me of this (http://www.hockeystation.com/showthread.php?t=159). People are seeing things that aren't really there again.
That picture looks a little fishy to me. I'm trying to find another one of the Metrodome's interior roof.
Look how they end their plea: "Is this the greatest hate crime in American history?" Please. Give me a break.
If people really are offended, they can mount a covering plate where the seams meet so the pattern is hidden. It's really not necessary to build a whole new stadium.
If people think the roof's architecture purposely contains a swastika, they need their heads examined.
I can see it, but then again if we connected the dots of lights that shine in the night sky we would most likely have god himself giving us the finger! Thanks Rusty old feller, I just had to clean my monitor!! LOL
I wonder what other patterns can be found in the roof. :pimp:
I think I see the ghost's of Linda Lovelace and Harry Reems re-enacting a scene from the famous film that grossed over 600 MILLION DOLLARS.

Ouch...as a Vikings fan this hurts. Why noone thought to get rid of it I have no idea since the place has been around since 1982.
It looks to me like the roof is just a pattern of horizontal and vertical lines, creating simple squares in the middle.

I think the picture that accompanied the article was either Photoshopped (that's a verb now too?) or taken at another location.
You be the judge.
Here's one from the air:

Hardly "swastika" material.

With or without a Swastika in the roof that is still one of the worst stadiums around.

Just cover it with a big Microsoft or Wall mart logo... that'll do the trick.
I actually took the time to write a mocking e-mail to the owner of that web site.
No repsonse yet. :coffee:

The swastika is prevalent in all sorts of architecture through out the world. From churches in the US to Russia, to Hindu temples and retail stores right here in Canada... lets tear them all down!

 We are surrounded by Nazis. I have read that the swastika has been around since before 200 BC, and I thought Hitler started the Naziz. ;)

When I lived in Kirkland Lake Ontario in the early 70's the next town was called Swastika. During World War 2 they tried to change the name to the District of Winston (after Churchill) but the locals said they had the name before Hitler and would have it after him.
If I am not mistaken Kitchener used to be known as Germantown, but they changed the name due to the second world war.
Or something like that.

I believe Kitchener used to be called Berlin actually. It was founded by Germans just as London was founded by the English. Many towns throughout Canada and the States had towns and cities with German names that were changed after the war. Kitchener, Waterloo and Markham are amoungst the many just here in Southern Ontario. In the states, many towns founded by Germans managed to keep their names and some that did change, changed back again several years later. One of the few areas around here that kept it's original German name is German Mills - some are still pressing to have the name changed. You can learn a lot by watching local broadcasting.

There's a town near Kirkland lake Ontario that?s named Swastika. But I think it?s an Indian name
Thanks meanie, I new it was something like that.

Kitchener is home to North America's largest bavarian festival each October. Our city's version of Oktoberfest is the world's second largest (next to Germany). The German population here is great and continues to grow, all because the city was founded by Germans (not that there's anything wrong with that).
Actually Waterloo gets in on it too. OMG what a party. My brother went to Waterloo U. and I visited him every Oktoberfest and partied my butt off. My liver still hasn't recovered and that was MANY years ago. :thumb:  Ein Posit!

The word Swastika is normally believed to be an amalgam of the words Su and Asati. Su means 'good' and Asati meant 'to exist'.
As per Sanskrit grammer the words Su and Asati when amalgamated into one word become Swasti (as in the case of Su and Aaatam becoming Swagatam meaning welcome). If this derivation of the word Swastika is true, then the literal meaning of the term Swastika would be 'let good-prevail'.
Too bad a certain German had to make it into such an awful symbol so that it can never be used properly.

Hitler was actually Austrian - it was his idea to incorporate the swastika into the army's image... he stole that from the Romans who's army's also donned the swastika on their war crests. So the symbol was pretty much tainted before Hitler... but he and his Nazi?s did a much better job in associating it with evil. Besides... it's just a freakin' few lines slapped together... what's the big loss? I think the world can live without that one shape... it's not like someone spilled my beer or anything.

it's not like someone spilled my beer or anything.
I rembember the day I started looking up to my dad.
We were at a picnic, and my pop was having a "pop", he accidently knocked the bottle with his elbow, and sent the beer tumbling off the table.
In the same motion, he reached down and grabbed the beer before it hit the ground . . .not spilling one drop.
"WOW, Dad! Do that again." I yelled
But of course he couldn't. He had other things on his mind

Having lived in Germany for three years in the 80's I found out that German Law actually did away with the use of the double S, Street in German phonetically is "Strassa" and they used to use two SS's, but due to the Waffen SS in the second World War they made a law outlawing the use of the stylized double SS's, now on all street signs they use stra?e.
