The big story of late is the re-emergence of Naslund along with the outstanding play of Luongo. Back to back shut outs will do that for you. He's played stellar of late, his playoff form has returned....perhaps he's even found another level.
Look for Rickie Nash to be a beast tonight. However, I just don't see the BJ's handling the Twins for a full 60. Kesler's line will be huge.
Should be fun, not sure I will see this on in it's entirety. Gotta rise early tomorrow.

Damn that extra hour you have on me in Manitoba beat me on this one. I wanted to do "GDT: Columbus Day BJ for the Snazzy Nucks"
Oh well, I suppose I can just talk about the game.
Kesler will be over Nash all night, and I don't think Columbus is one of those teams that can count on someone like Timonen or Niedermayer to shut down the Snazzy line.
The question is who will be in goal for Columbus, LeClaire or Norenna?

Canucks should win but this will not be a gimmie. Hitchcock has them buying into his system and they sit second in an improved Central. As long as the Canucks play like they have been and don't take the night off to read thier press clippings the universe should unfold as we all want it too.;)

Leclaire's out with a bad hamstring, so it will be Norrena.
The Jackets always play the Canucks tough here, so I think we'll see a very similar game to what we on Sunday against the Hawks. Tight checking and low scoring.
Luongo is really smokin' right now, so I'm going to give it to the Canucks, 2-0.

Congrats to Luongo on the two franchise shut-out marks.
They never did credit Naslund and Henrik with the assists they should have earned on the Ohlund goal, which is garbage. That assist would have tied Naslund with Linden for the all-time francise lead for points.
Henrik did get his 250th assist on the Krajicek goal. The all time franchise assist mark for the Canucks is 411, held by both Smyl and Linden. Naslund has 391.
And another little interesting stat that seemed to go unnoticed...The 6-2 win over Minnesota was Henrik's 500th NHL game, Daniel's was the game in St. Louis last Friday...hard to believe it's been that long already.
9-2-2 in November and now in 2nd place in the West. Nicely done, boys. A tough month coming up, though...only 5 home games.

So Naslund will probably take the overall lead in points in Canuck history on the road. Ohlund is now one goal behind Lumme for most goals by a Canuck Defenceman, given the December sched, he'll probably get that one in a road game as well.
I really do wonder if Luongo will get player of the week, or are all the eastern media still tuned into their favourite soap "How MLSE Turns"?:wicked:
I liked Edler last night, he was making some nice plays, move him onto the #1 PP unit instead of Salo and Kesler for Morrison to see what happens.

I think the problem with the first powerplay unit with Salo in the lineup is that they start relying on his shot from the point. This unit works more effectively when they work the puck down low from the halfboards to the crease. When Salo rips his shot far wide, it carims off the boards and out of the zone.
Last night I think the Canucks played a good team game. They're what 13-0 now when leading after two? That must mean our problem of blowing third periods leads has been fixed.
Kesler played another great game, he had Nash quite frustrated by the third.

Another solid win for the Canucks
What more can you say? Lets keep it going
BTW, I was at the mall on Wednesday, saw Rick Nash, Leclaire, and Chimera..

That is probably the biggest differnce in this team from the Burke/Crawford era. These guys don't let teams up off the mat, they keep the throttle down, very few late cheesey goals to spoil the shutout like we used to see. Now I know that Louie is not Lenny, but they are shutting people down as of late. Kudos to Vigneault and crew.

Even last year, this team with Louie more often than not found a way to make every game close. Hence the great overtime record.
