Yes, that's what I am alluding to. Burkie's up to something....I also found the Bryzgalov waiving odd. He couldn't find anyone willing to give him anything for him.....I dunno about that personally. :no:

Burke said he had given Bryz his word that if he hadn't moved him by X time he would waive him and allow him to go elsewhere.

You can bet every pending rfa will be getting very decent offers from their current teams so that Edmonton doesn't over-inflate the players price with more of their rediculous offer sheets.

Oh the irony for years whoever was calling the shots in Edmonton, Pocklington, then Sather, then Lowe, would moan about ever rising salaries and the perils of being in a small market, and blame the big markets for driving up wages and not getting any results. Yet when he went to New York Sather became the poster boy for this type of reckless behaviour. To furhter add to the bizzaro world whenever one of the former star Oiler players who left for more money in some other market returns for a game their is huge applause, they close down the streets and erect statutes (ok that may be hyperbole but you catch my drift).;)

Never the less a good signing by the team. Getzlav is a good all around player who knows how to play his position in the team.
