Hello Canucks fans.

http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=223292&hubname=

Well, once again they gotta keep things simple. Garon will likely go for the Oil and I am thinking he will play well for them, however I doubt we see a repeat performance. Further, the boys would be well served to hit him with rubber from all angles and aim for the 40 shot mark. Pepper him and work this young Oiler's D over all night.

Keeping it simple = another victory and that much closer to the NW penthouse.

Bite your tongue Rusty...LOL...the day I get a Linden jersey is the day ff2 gets a Naslund tattoo on his ass.

Here is a good article I think you guys might enjoy...

I pointed this out last season somewhere around February or March. I think it was something like 10 goals the other team's top 3 scorers had managed in 25 games since Christmas. And that's the kicker. They can shut teams down like that for long stretches. Of course, they need to find a way to do that in the playoffs and still manage to score themselves.

Hansen was sent to the Moose today, Brown was called up. Interesting move with what happened in that game against the Wild and with Canucks back in Minnesota tomorrow.

I didn't see the slash, but I'm glad Ohlund did it. I'm tired of seeing other teams taking runs at our guy's heads. Hopefully, this will get the message across. Koivu had what was coming to him. What I find stupid, but typical of the NHL, is that Koivu didn't get suspended for his headshot and the league did nothing to the Wild player that deliberately fired the puck at our player at the end of the game. And then that moron Boogard comes out and declares open season on our top players, and still the league doesn't do anything. You'd think they'd at least fine him. Remember after the Bertuzzi incident when I said the league wouldn't learn a damn thing about this kind of crap?

Anyways, tonight's game should be a good one. I have the night off work, but I'm going to the Zappa concert, so I'm going to miss it.

I'll call it 3-1 Vancouver.

Please not another butt ugly shoot out.

I voted where you asked me to RB so what do I win?

About the article Gordo posted, very early this season the Canucsk could not shut down the other teams stars and we all saw the reults.

Zappa? wow. Should be a good time...

I thought the same damn thing about Boogard. Really pissed me off frankly and as for the headshot, your right on the money, the kid took a run at Ohlly. Only wish he would have simply dropped the gloves and taken care of it that way. Seems to me Ohlund is finally at his end with a lot of things....could be good. Get his blood flowing.

Brown, yup, I noticed that move too. Gonna be fun. And Boogard....like you said above...:conspire:

Oh, and I will ask FF about his ass. :slant:  :D :D

I have a feeling our offense is going to carry on tonight. Goals, I smell goals.

You will head moderator. :conspire:  Right, you're already one of those....well, you win the Hockey Station's "Good Sportsmanship on the Polls" prize...:coffee:

Yeah, the last time Dweezle and the band were in town, Stevie Vai showed up. I was pissed I missed it. Hopefully a similar treat is in store tonight. But if not, that's cool too. I've heard nothing but good things about this show. It's an early Xmas present from my wife, and I've been looking forward to it. I'm going with my brother, and he's showing up at my place to cook up a duck he bagged. Should be fun.

Agreed on Ohlund. The game against the Oilers was the best game I've seen him play since the year before the lockout. A shame he has to sit now, but if he's prepared to play at that level all year, we're in for a treat.

Nice xmas present. And after the year you've had, well deserved. Enjoy the Duck.

Ohlund is an excellent D man whom we've all learned is a big minute guy. Some guys are like that, give them 22 mins and they shine, give them 16 and you wonder why they're on the team

Gordo I saw the Zappa plays Zappa tour last year with Vai and Bozzio and it was a spectacular show, you're in for a treat!

I don't think this team will have any problems with the Oil tonight. I honestly consider it a fluke this team lost 1-0 instead of winning 3-0 last time.

Hey, the holidays are coming and i seriously was contemplating getting a Sedin jersey. I can't decide between a personalized D.H. Sedin 23, Sedin 33, or Sedin 22.

 Well, I was joking but hey, not a bad idea you know, the 23 and the D and H. Or how about, since you've been extra good, a home and and away....the you've got it covered nicely. I was thinking you and I could pitch in together and get gordo an Isbister unit.... :thumb: :wicked: As he reads these words I can just see him dancing at his computer like this emoticon....:boogie:

Seriously, I agree. IF not for Garon last outing the Oilers might have been embarrassed. As much as I believe they have a decent talent pool there I think even a hot Garon might make them surprising anyone as I predicted earlier a stretch of even my imagination.

I really think we'll see the Twins and Co take it up a notch where gelling is concerned. They're really coming together as a line nicely. And so is the big line (weight wise) in Isbister, Kesler and Pyatt.

And I must say I am so happy to see Cowan in the line up these days. He didn't look to bad either considering he's been out for 12 or more games.

I would never get their road jersey. I hate the white and green. I would like to get a '94 design with a Sedin or Naslund name and number on it. That's a sharp looking sweater.

Cowan adds something to this team when he's in the lineup. He's not critical to their success, but I think he makes them tougher to play against with what he brings on the forecheck.

Gordo has such a weird affinity for players on this team doesn't he? I honestly can't wait to see him when he busts out the Sopel rags.:boogie:

Cooke scores 2 goals, with 2 assists..and is promptly traded for Dustin Brown, and a box of Playboys

Why would LA want to part with a box of playboys for nothing?

Terrible effort = terrible outcome. They spot them a 2-0 and then 3-1 lead before "sorta" getting interested. Garbage calls too, both ways. The memo must have been sent. ;)

Cowan looked like total **** in the first half of the game, a touch less rank in the second. As a group they looked like they all caught the flu. Sandbaggin it out there. Was hard to watch in moments. This is not the team we have been enjoying of late. However, these things will happen.

On a plus note, a so so effort kept them in a game they deserved to lose IMO. The Oilers are a few pieces away from being a team one might consider a contender, to be fair. The Canucks with their play of late should be making short work of situations like this cause Edmonton did not play that good of a game IMO. Another plus was NAslund. That goal he snipped in there was the stuff of magic. Outstanding to say nothing at all, nicest goal we've seen from him in some time.

All in all, they all looked a step back....doesn't fair well going into tomorrow.

gotta run, my cat just nabbed a mouse in the kitchen!

Hmmm....maybe as a group they became a little too satisfied with their play and thought that things would just go their way? They have a chance to take over first place in the Northwest with a win tonight, and they don't have much time to regroup, so hopefully they've already shed themselves of whatever brought that effort on.

3 PP goals against a night after their PK saves their butts by killing off back-to-back 5 on 3s, and badly outshot for long stretches. Blah.

On a positive note, what a great show last night! Talk about a talented group of people playing great music! Frank Zappa may well be the most overlooked musical genius of the last century. Good fun.

Well after a week of playing Edmonton, we got the points we deserved. We deserved two last time and gone one, we deserved none this time and got one.

Give credit to Edmonton, they came out hard early in the game and they forced the Canucks into penalty trouble and made them pay. If our team did such a thing, we'd win in regulation and sing their praises.

What really concerned me in this game was the penalty kill. It has to be better, especially against the worst powerplay in the league. Maybe this goes to show you just how much Matty-O means to this team's special units.

There are some positives to pull out of this contest. They could've stolen two points when they came from behind and took the lead. This team really didn't quit last night even after being put out of the game early. Could they have done that against a contender, probably not, but they muscled up and got a point out of a game they really should've lost in the first period. Naslund has what three goals in his last four games and hasn't he had scratched another two points on the score sheet. If he's really starting to come on like he can, our team is going to be tough to beat in both ends of the rink.

Well, the refs ruled this game. Enough said

The Canucks would have taken the game, if not for the refs

Anyway, got a point out of this spectacle..so..no real complaints
