Just got this one as an (e3)....the Sens would send Patrick Eaves to Florida for Gary Roberts. I am sure I'll be up all night...so check back...

I had heard a Vermette for Roberts rumour earlier which IMO is a bit much, but Eaves would work.

I'd be pissed if that went down. I love former 67 Gary Roberts but not at the price of Eaves. He'll be a gamer for us. He's already as good as Roberts so it'd ultimately be a swap for a bit more grit and a lot more experience..... but Eaves isn't in the last 2-3 years of his career and on the decline. Gary Roberts is no more than an average 2nd liner with intangibles at this point. And this team doesn't really need grit and experience that much as opposed to years past...... though more never hurts.

My offer for Roberts is a 2nd rounder + mid range prospect. I really don't think he's worth much more than that.

Way too much to give up for Roberts who will probably make this his last year.If you're giving up Eaves you might as well go for Guerin or Tkachuk.
