...but the NHL laughing stock St. Louis Blues have gone 13-3-2 in their last 18 under new coach Andy Murray.

This franchise that was in utter shambles just a short time ago, even enduring some wise-ass public comments by other NHL players earlier this season about their poor record and low attendance.

Now they have very quietly crept into 3rd place in the Central division and sit only 8 points out of a play-off spot.

Who have they beaten during this run?

A few notables:

Pittsburgh 4-1
Buffalo 3-2
New Jersey 3-2
Anaheim 6-2
San Jose 1-0
Detroit 2-1

Quite a turn-around to say the least. It's great to see, maybe the St. Louis NHL market is ripe for rejuvenation, because when they're winning it's a great market.

When Andy Murray was hired I didn't think he was the answer. I thought he might work the players too hard like he did in LA and end up with injuries and/or a veterans revolt. St. Louis has developed into a good hockey market, so I hope John Davidson and Company are able to turn it around there, the proof will be in thier developing players in house which is what seems to succeed in the"new" NHL.

JD is smart. He knows he needs to rebuild from youth. He didn't have to look far as Rangers analyst to see the results of neglecting youth.

I say he's gonna milk the trading deadline for all it's worth when the "rent-a-veteran" time of year is upon us.

I think these guys will defiinitely be shipped out....

Guerin (really picked up his play under Murray and leads the team in scoring... increasing his trade value at just the right time.)
Tkachuk
Weight
Rucinsky

These guys could also get moved if there's enough interest.

Cajanek (Decent play maker but injury prone. I think JD wants to get rid of him anyway)
Dvorak (If the price is right)
Drake (Old with stanley cup experience... get what you can if there's any takers)

Also, Legace is 33. He's playing well. If a contender loses their #1 to injury - you just never know...
