Sources are telling Sportsnet that Peter Forsberg has agreed to lift his no-trade clause with the Philadelphia Flyers for the purpose of going to a playoff contender.
Multiple teams have contacted the Flyers about the possibility of obtaining the two-time Stanley Cup champion, including the Maple Leafs, Canadiens and the Rangers.
Under normal circumstances, a player of Forsberg's status could easily land the Flyers a first-round pick and a top prospect, but his health status continues to be an issue for some teams. Sources tell Sportsnet a deal could revolve around a conditional future considerations trade built around Forsberg's performance and if or when he re-signs with the Flyers again in the off season.
