3 wins, 4 losses, 5 wins, 7 losses, 4 wins. :confused:
This is just like last year. First of all, there's about 4 guys who do all the scoring. As it stands now, any team in the NHL who can effectively shut down Jagr would knock this team out of the playoffs. Easily.
And like last year the team streaks one way or the other. For whatever reason, the only thing that is consistent is inconsistency.
At any rate, it's great to see Jed Ortemeyer back in the lineup. Watching his hard working shifts with Hollweg yesterday brought me right back to last year when the team was winning games and beating better teams because of its sheer work ethic.
Unfortunately, with the exception of Tyutin who's really coming along nicley, the defensive pairings are still painful to watch.
That's the cost of rebuilding is you have to wait I suppose. Eventually Marc Staal will be playing top minutes right up against the Crosby's and Malkin's of the league and Bobby Sanguinetti will be (hopefully) reminding ranger fans of Brian Leetch.
Maybe when that day comes these roller coaster seasons will be a thing of the past.
