ANAHEIM, Calif. (CP) - The Anaheim Ducks acquired defenceman Ric Jackman from the Florida Panthers for a conditional pick in the 2007 NHL draft on Wednesday.

The Ducks also reassigned defenceman Aaron Rome to Portland of the American Hockey League.

Jackman had one goal in seven games with the Panthers this season.

The 28-year-old split last season between Pittsburgh and Florida, recording seven goals with 23 assists in 64 games.

A native of Toronto, Jackman has 18 goals and 48 assists in 207 career NHL games with Dallas, Boston, Toronto, Pittsburgh and Florida.

I bet Jackman is happy going from the struggling Panthers to the Ducks.

I always thought Jackman got hosed in Toronto and has struggled to find his game ever since; playing on the Ducks could bring back his confidence.

I agree he got hosed in Toronto. His point per game pace he started with in Pittsburg I thought was a fitting kick in the groin to Leafs management.
