We have depht on defense for the first time in years with Streit playing forward and Niinimaa as a 7th defenseman, plus Biron and Côté in case of emergency
We have guys in Hamilton like Lapierre and Kostitsyn who proved that they can play at the NHL level, not counting those who have yet to get the chance to prove what they can do
Two NHL caliber goalies with the big club, one leading the league in saves %, arguably the best two goalies of the AHL playing in Hamilton and Team Canada's junior starting goalie is also... ours
Our 49 points in 36 games put us second in our division, 3rd in the conference and tied for 6th in the entire league
We went from sharing a farm team with Edmonton because we didn't have enough quality prospect, to having our own team which is leading their division in the AHL
We have a coach in contention for the Jack Adams trophy early on this season, rookie coach
According to the players on the team, the team spirit has never been better and that, coming from guys who have been here many years (Rivet, Koivu, Souray)
Any more doubts on Bob Gainey and how valuable he is??? :hammer:

Seriously the Habs have been a pleasant surprise in Hockey and in Canadian Hockey this season, so far.

The best thing ever to happen to the Habs organization in a long time. Hope the powers that be sign him on to a llllllooooooooonnnnnnnnnggggggg term contract!!!!
