Good for him. The Penguins have the seeds to become a powerhouse team for years to come to say the least.

Jordan's brother Marc was not as fortunate, and returned by the Rangers to Sudbury where he'll team up with yet another from the Staal clan - younger brother Jared.

Good stuff. Jordan's all-round game and strength are great for an 18yr old.

It shows how much harder it can be for a d-man to make the league. If Marc is a regular by age 21 or 22 he will be doing just fine.

Yeah I did not see Marc Staal play in any NHL Pre-season games... but from what I read and heard.. he is just not ready for that level, and it was quite obvious to those watching him play. None the less they kept him around as long as they could - but there was no way he wasn't going back down to juniors.

He will be ready - but he needs more development. Supposedly there has been good communication between Sudbury and the Ranger brass about what is needed to make Marc a full time Ranger next season.

He has to be dissappointed that his younger brother got the nod before him, but it's a different team and a different position. Marc might have stuck on another team that didn't already have an established top 5-6 starters on the blue line. I still have high hopes that he'll become an important piece of the Rangers for years to come. Just not this year.

As for Jordan, what a splash this family is making on the league huh?... it's great to see so many young talented players around the NHL just starting out their careers.

(to bad a bunch of them are on the same team in the Rangers division :slant: )

:D
