It's October, the regular season is over and eight teams have clinched their postseason positions, so here we go with the 2006 MLB Playoff Pool.

It's simple. Just send me a Private Message (http://www.hockeystation.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=39) of your first round picks before 12:59 pm Eastern Time on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2005. That way you'll be in the first round of the pool and have your picks qualify.

Here's how it works:
You pick who will win each of the Division Series and in how many games they'll need to win.

First Round Matchups:

AMERICAN LEAGUE DIVISION SERIES

Detroit Tigers (95-67) versus New York Yankees (97-65).

Oakland Athletics (93-69) versus Minnesota Twins (96-66).

NATIONAL LEAGUE DIVISION SERIES

St. Louis Cardinals (83-78) versus San Diego Padres (88-74).

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v186/jrthesportsczar/Sports%20Logos/losangeles_dodgers.gifhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v186/jrthesportsczar/Sports%20Logos/newyork_mets.gif
Los Angeles Dodgers (88-74) versus New York Mets (97-65).

Scoring:

You'll receive five (5) points for correctly indentifying the winning team in each series and ten (10) points if you correctly pick how many games they need to win each series. You only get the extra points if you picked the winning team. Examples:
You pick the Cardinals over the Padres in four games. They win the series in five games. You would get 5 points for picking the Cardinals to win and 0 bonus points.
You pick the Yankees over the Tigers in five games. The Tigers win the series in five games. You would receive zero points even if you correctly picked the number of games. REMEMBER: In the Division Series of Major League Baseball, they play a best-of-five series. So the first team to win three games, moves on the their League's Championship Series.

Any other questions, PM me or post them below.

The A's jump out to a 2-0 lead? They'll blow it in typical Oakland fashion.

Should have taken that bet:rolleyes:I'm still shocked. It's the first time since 1990 they didn't spit the bit. Credit the Big Hurt, I guess.

After the way the Tigers have been playing and their game one performance, I wouldn't be surprised if they swept the A's.

Slightly bitter? ;)Slightly?

Well, the National League team hasn't won a WS game since 2003 and since the Mets aren't there, that will continue. :wicked:

What? Did they win yet? I have no idea. I've watch about two-thirds of an inning total of this World Series, and I'm not alone: "The lowest ratings ever for a World Series." *YAWN.*
