INNSBRUCK, Austria -- And the winner of the trash talking award goes to ... Finland's Jarkko Ruutu.

Ruutu didn't mince his words when took a verbal swipe at Sweden's Johnathan Hedstrom after the Swedes thumped their Scandinavian rivals 5-1 at the world hockey championship.

"If I ever play him again, I guarantee you I will beat his ass," said Ruutu. "He is a f---ing *****. I challenged him a couple of times when he was on the bench. I invited him to fight me but he is a f---ing chicken. He s--- his pants in fear. I could see that."

Ruutu paused for a second before he launched into tirade No. 2.

"Write this. Anytime, anywhere. This is a challenge. If he wants, we are in the same hotel. I'm in D208. Tell him to knock first. I will be there. But knock first."

Hedstrom didn't take the bait.

"He is a clown," said the Swede.

Some one is going to make a reference to the fact that Ruutu is a Canuck like Bertuzzi, but the Trash talk sort of reminds me of Tikanin (sic), but nobody could ever understand him.

Nobody could understand Tikkanen's mangled English. Adam Graves told a funny story once about being a rookie on Edmonton. Tikkanen was talking to him on the bench but Graves couldn't make out a word of it. In earnest he turned to Jarri Kurri, also from Finland, assuming that he could translate the "Tik-speak".

So Graves says to Kurri, "what did he say?". And Kurri gives him a blank look and says "How the f--- should I know..."
