I didn't think Gange would commit for 5 years. If Forsberg stays healthy Gange could rack up the points and be a bargain, of course my wife's lotto pool could come through big time as well.

I never doubted he wouldn't sign for a long term deal. He said he wanted to be a Flyer for his career. Now by the time this deal is up, he will have been with the Flyers for 12 years. Best news to hear this morning. And now this will be incentive for Forsberg and Knuble to re-sign with the Flyers after this season.

Good move by Philly. They need Gagne if they want to build a championship team. He arrived at a new plateau last season and who knows if he'll keep getting better. 5 years is a gamble I would take on him for sure. He's only 26.

And 5.25 is a price tag that should leave him trade-able in the years ahead if things didn't work out.
