Dont know how many of you feel about the hockeyrodent but in there jagr interview jagr is still not 100% and he was told injuries of his kind could take a year to heal after sugery. even without jagr if it happens im still confident we will be in the playoffs.
Not that we dont have very good prospects waiting and believe me i really wana see this nigel dawes, ryan callahan and jarko imminon get a shot there not gona be like jagr. but if could be effective would be a plus in his absensce if it happens.

Jagr Interview
Sat, Aug 19, 9:00 PM Pacific
The following interview appeared in Denik Sport on Friday.
"Your shoulder was operated on in May. How is it looking at this time?"
I feel differently on the ice. But this is to be expected. Thankfully, there are still fifty days before the season begins.
"Is it still sore?"
It hurts. But the problem is... when I bend so as to avoid the pain it causes me to shoot differently. But I was prepared for this. Even in America, I was warned that it could take a full year to return to 100%.
"Are you hitting the net?"
Absolutely not. And my shots are very weak. (He laughs) Maybe the reason is that Kladno has excellent goalies now.
The only thing I care about is that he doesn't come back too early and be less than himself and even worse re-injur himself. That's the last thing we need.
If he's not ready for the start of the season, you could look on the bright side in that the team will have to figure out how to win without him... Then when he comes back - even better.

True by all means. let him heal. if anyone is gona heal and get strong and fit faster then others it will be Jagr. He is so devoted to his work outs after games he still spends 3 hours at the gym.
The thing that i worry about is like said re-injur himself. He tried to come back in the playoffs after the injury and just hope he doesnt do the same if not 100% at the start of the season.
I also wouldn't like to see Jagr come back before he is healed properly. The team is looking pretty good (on paper) and can do without him for a while.
BTW Krypt, he's my favourite player.
I'm sure they won't rush him back. Last year it was the playoffs... and even then I think it was in bad judgement to clear him to play against the Devils.
He quite obviously was in no shape to be playing, let alone in a PO series vs. the Devils.

The way he left the game (I don't even remember which game it was anymore) on a seemingly innocent hit in the corner just showed that he really shouldn't have been out there. I hope for the Rangers sake that it doesn't end up costing them Jagr for part of this season too. If the Devils looked inept offensively without Elias last year, what would the Rangers look like without Jagr this year?

Beter then the devils we got shanahan so that should take off some of the burden.
It really will be a new Ranger team next year... The same core guys that learned how to win as a team and play defense will still be there for the most part, but in addition to SHanny we got the 2 Canes. Different team when Jagr is healthy.
But its a double edge sword... the Rangers won't be sneaking up on anybody this year. They can expect no team to overlook them after last year's improbable run. I just hope Renney can keep the same formula going this season.
Also there's talk he's going to name Jagr captain and Jagr will accept it.

i really dont want jagr to be the captain as this might change his game play and take his mind away from the things he does best. i would just leave him alone. why fix something that isnt broke?
Might as well make it kasper he yells at the refs enough. makes sense to me.
Nylander another possibility. i kinda liked his leadership last season.

Well from what I've read... .Renney wants a captain this year. It's time for somebody to have the sack to step into Messier's shoes.
Frankly, I think Mess ultimately hurt the franchise by staying around too long and not releasing his grip on the captaincy. Not to disrespect, but teams need to evolve and move on.
Nobody, not even Jagr wanted to be pegged as Messier's "replacement" last season. That's why they went with 3 A's.
I think he'll be fine with it. I also read that if Jagr still doesn't want it Renney is prepared to offer it to Shanny. So one way or another we'll have a captain this year.
But Jagr has indicated he'll accept the role this season. Shanny and Kaspar get the A's. I can live with that. A "C" on Jagr's chest is not going to effect his game. He'll still do what he does best. Protect the puck and SCORE.
