I personally enjoy the rotiserrie style of fantasy hockey. I find it more challenging and interesting than head-to-head.

Max Teams: 12 (I'd rather not go more than that if possible)

Stat Categories:

OFFENSE: Goals, Assists, +/-, PIM, PPP (I purposely excluded GWG - I hate that stat)

GOAL: Wins, GAA, Save Percentage, Shutouts


If you've never played roto style, It's cumulative throughout the season, unlike head-to-head. It's a different strategy than H2H.

Roto - is that the same as the Baseball pool?

Roto just means there are no weekly matchups against other teams. Stats are cumulative from day one to the end of the season.

A point system is used to keep standings based on your rank per stat.

I fell silly now, I totally assumed Krypt's league was head to head without actually checking the settings.

Right now I'm only in one league and I would like at least one more. If there are enough takers for this league we can change it to head to head if that's the consensus vote.

If not, I'll probably just make it public and be in 2 roto leagues.

I'm at my max of 4 hockey leagues on my Yahoo profile. Even though I could make another one, I just don't have the team between 4 hockey and 5 football. Nevermind if people wanna start a basketball one. I kinda doubt someone would start one, but I'd still probably join.

I'm going to keep the settings as is for this league and make it public. I'll hold off making it public for a week or so.

So if anyone wants to join it there's your window to get in. Once I make it public Yahoo will just assign people randomly so it will fill up pretty quick. Ill keep this thread stuck until then.

I might just roll with 2 hockey teams this year. Fantasy gets a little much sometimes.

This league should be considered the official one for HockeyStation.com members, as the other one has a grabbag of member from multiple forums around the Internet. It seems the commish couldn't fill his league with friends so he just posted the ID and password in as many places as he could.

That said, the Grand River OILists are in and begin their drive for the second annual Station Cup.

last year i was in both roto and h2h. I found that h2h was better but roto is a good change.

We have 7 teams and 12 is the limit. As of Saturday Sep. 9th I am making this league public if it's not full... Because the draft is only 5 days later and the assigned teams might want a little time to pre-rank. Just a heads up.

OK I opened up the league and made it public.

I cut the team limit down to 10 so we should have some nice depth to keep things really competitive. We should get 3 more managers assigned before the draft - which is Thursday the 14th

I think you may have to pre rank the players or just go by Yahoo's rankings. I really don't know.

Just pre-rank... I'm not even sure I can make it myself yet, but I'm all pre-ranked. Usually works out OK.

Especially in a 10 team league... there will be some legitimate quality players left on the wire after the draft is over. Players that would be snatched up in bigger leagues.
