I thought the rousing ovation Barry Zito got as he was coming off the field in the 7th inning vs the Jays this Saturday was nice to see. They were letting him know how much they appreciate and recognize what a great pitcher has been for the team since he came into the league 5 years ago, and how much he has meant to the organization and community. They were also letting him know how much he is loved by his fans there, and how they will miss him if that is the last time they see him. It was nice to see that, and I actually no longer regretted watching a game that the disposable waste was starting in for the Jays.

Fans do that to their starting pitchers all the time. This just once again proves you watch no baseball at all.

I have no idea what you had to say Leafs_Fart_For_Life as you are on my ignore list. I know that will be hard for you to accept as you are obsessed with me and love following me around everywhere I go.

Zito is one of the guys expected to move by the trade deadline. I know if the Jays could get away with prospects and picks, I would love to see Zito in our #3 starting spot. Come on Old Man Rogers, give JP the go ahead and any cash he needs.

The Yanks just got Abreu so we need to do something.

Zito in the #3 spot? You dont honestly think the vastly overpayed and overhyped A.J Burnett is better then Zito do you?

LOL, can't handle someone disagreeing with you. Not a shock at all:laughing:

Zito won't go anywhere. The A's need him for the playoff race and will get a first rounder and a sandwich pick when he jumps in the offseason. The Mets might have been a possiblity, but I doubt they give up a package that includes guys like Miledge, Pelfry, and Heilman.

Don't really know. Honestly, I don't really care. Now A.J. Burnett is a very good pitcher, who was brought here as our #2. Even though Zito maybe a better pitcher, Burnett is more than capable of being a #2, and imo deserves to be left there. Besides, having Zito in the #3 spot lines him up for any game 7's in the post season.

I am not sure why this thread was started? Anyways a similar incident occured on the weekend when Bobby Abreau was pulled from the Phillies' line up because of the trade to The Yankees and he popped his head out of the dugout to salute the crowd.

I saw someting about that. Neat little feel-good story.

It might have had something to do with the fact he pitched a decent game too.:thumb:
