What a win for Liverpool!!!!! :thumb: I can't believe Johnson(?) missed that opurtunity at the end. No goalie just two Liverpool defenders and a shot for everything and he put it wide.
YEEEHAAAA
I just got back from watching it with 8 other Liverpool fans. A great win!!!! I love seeing Morinho looking forlorn. 6 minutes extra time was a bit brutal.
It sure shocks me.
A much better game today than last Wednesday with some more chances. It was very exciting with the six penalty minutes added. Too bad the Blues couldn't score. Great chance in the 5th of added time as it just whistled by the outer post.
Now with AC Milan likely moving on, it sure sets up an interesting final.

Yeah the final I predicted and everyone laughed.
By the way, just for the record, I'm still not convinced the ball was across the line.
Is it like hockey? The ball must go completely across the plane of the goal or it must partially be passed?
Oh and the other thing is, there's a great chance that Liverpool won't be in the Champions League next year. They'll likely finish below the fourth place cut off in the EPL standings, so they wouldn't qualify. What a shame that would if they won and the defending champions couldn't even defend their title!

The rules are the rules, if Liverpool end up under 4th, and win the championship, unless UEFA has a change of heart the correct ruling is whats been stated and we won't see Liverpool next year. I can live with it, but I think the rules might be changed if this does indeed happen. With Everton with a game in hand and 3 points up its a good chance this is going to become a reality.

Foreget about a change of heart, the Freaking FA has ruled against it. :conspire:
FA dashes Liverpool aspirations
The Football Association has confirmed the Premiership's top four will qualify for next season's Champions League.
The decision will come as a blow to Liverpool who could win the competition this season and not be able to defend the trophy if they finish fifth.
Everton are currently in fourth place in the top-flight and are three points ahead of the Reds with a game in hand.
But the FA says it will lobby Uefa for a fifth Champions League place if the Reds beat AC Milan in the 25 May final.
The decision was recommended by FA's professional game board after a meeting at Soho Square on Thursday and it has been endorsed by the main body of English football's governing body.
A statement on the FA website said: "This will not be changed whatever the outcome of Liverpool's Champions League Final in Istanbul on 25 May.
"However, the FA also believes that if Liverpool win in Istanbul and do not finish in the top four in the Premiership, an extra place should be allocated to them in the Champions League next season.
"This is ultimately a matter for Uefa, but the FA will continue to make representations on this issue at the highest level."
Everton chief executive Keith Wyness was happy with the decision, although he was quick to stress that they still had work to do to secure the final Champions League spot.
He told the club's website: "Whilst we welcome the announcement from the FA regarding clarification on the fourth place qualification issue, we are still operating in a hypothetical situation with regards to Everton's position."
Uefa regulations stipulate that a maximum of four sides from any one country can take part in the Champions League and European football's rulers say it would not allow five English clubs to take part, although they will look into changing the rule in future.
"You cannot change the rule at this late stage of the season," insisted Uefa spokesman William Gaillard.
"For future seasons, say from 2006-2007, the executive committee may look to change the rule. But for next season the rule stays at it is.
"The English Premiership has four places and it would be unfair to tell another national association that they have lost one of theirs."
Real Madrid finished fifth in La Liga when they won the Champions League in 2000 but they were allowed to defend their title after a ruling by the Spanish FA.
The inclusion of the Bernabeu club came at the expense of Real Zaragoza who finished fourth at the end of the 1999/2000 season.

I don't think the rules should be changed just to give Liverpool a chance. If they don't qualify, then they don't qualify. It's Liverpools own bad play for most of the year that put them in this spot and now they have to live with it, even if it means they won't be able to defend the title.
I disagree. If they win and aren't aloowed to play in the CL then the * has to apply

But isn't it kind of like the playoffs in any other sport though? If you win the campionship one year but aren't good enough to qualify the next, then that's just the way it is. Why should it be changed?
Back in my day in hockey the Stanley cup champions played the best of the rest in the All Star Game. It made so much sense.
I think the CL winner needs to have an automatic place in the next years Cl or it loses all continuity. Just my opinion.
