I am really starting to love Colangelo :)

TORONTO (CP) -- Toronto Raptors president and GM Bryan Colangelo managed not only to acquire a centre but dump a salary in one fell swoop Wednesday.

Colangelo traded fan favourite Matt Bonner plus fellow forward Eric Williams to the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday, in exchange for seven-foot centre Rasho Nesterovic and cash.

Nesterovic fills a gaping hole for the Raptors, who have been in need of a true centre to help out star forward Chris Bosh. The move also rids the roster of the disgruntled Williams and his contract....

Sportsnet.ca -- Rumours continue to swirl around the Toronto Raptors and the No. 1 pick that they own in next Wednesday's NBA draft.

The Toronto Sun reports that the latest rumour making its way around the mill is a deal which would see the Raptors trade down to the third choice in the draft and also receive point guard Brevin Knight from Charlotte in exchange for the top pick in the draft and long-time Raptor Alvin Williams.

The deal would allow the Raptors to help fill their hole at point gurad since Mike James is an unrestricted free agent and may not return and also allow the Raptors to grab European forward Andrea Bargnini whom Raptors general manager Bryan Colangelo is said to be enamoured with.

I can live with this move too :)

It's a decent deal for us as it fills the gaping hole we had at the centre position, and finally allows CB4 to play his most comfortable position rather then having to worry about centre. Bonner was decent in his rookie year, but as soon as the book got out on him he became rather ineffective and E. Williams was just a waste of cap space who was not helping the team whatsoever with his "I don't want to be here" attitude.

I will say though that it's great to see B.C. so pro-active with his deals and you can see how he is shaping this team as opposed to Babcock who everyone, could tell that he had no clue what the hell he was doing. It's nice to see this team getting better and hopefully with the Atlantic still rather weak this team can actually get into the playoffs and do some serious damage :thumb:
