Any of you football fans know the history behind this clip?
I'm a little curious after watching it

Yup I remember that. That little puke Jim Rome had his own show. He used to call Jim Everett "Chris Everett" who is a female athlete. (it's meant to be an insult)
So Jim Everett, actually went on his show and told him not to do that again and obviously you saw what happened. I have hated Jim Rome ever since that day. (not that I knew who he was before that).
That clip is probably at least 10 years old am I right?

At least 10 years old. There was a rumour it was a set up. Jim Rome's natrional profile went way up after this incident. C-O-N-P-I-R-A-C-Y?
Isn't he the guy that also got into it with Hasek in the hallway???
I have been asked about this several times in real life by people who have seen the clip but don't get the difference between "Chris" and "Jim," because you think what's the harm in calling a guy Chris? Matt explained it very well. Chris Everett is a female tennis player and Jim Rome was using her first name to take a shot at former L.A. Rams' quarterback Jim Everett for his "girly" play on the football field. Jim Rome is a blowhard, but I don't mind him. He's not my favourite sports talk host, but I have enjoyed watching J.R.I.B. (Jim Rome is Burning) on TSN recently.

I saw this on ebaums world once. Jim Rome is back on TSN recently, but I enjoy PTI much more.
The funny thing is, on yesterday's Jim Rome is Burning, he made reference to this incident. On Sunday, Shaq called New Jersey Nets' head coach Lawrence Frank - "Laura," because of his constant whining about officiating. After beginning to rip him for it, he stops and says, "who am I to talk about guys calling other guys, girls' names?"
