If Vigneault takes a no nonsense/ nofloaters approach he may have some success. He got the Habs into the second round a few years ago without a great talent base, and he took the Moose to the playoffs with a revolving door line up due to call ups and injuries. Crawford is a good coach but the players had tuned him out, perhaps they will hopefully listen to Vigneault.

This is good news for the Canucks

Vigneault is a solid choice. I was pleased to see him hired for the Moose job, and now even more so for the Canucks

He gets the most out of his players, and works well with his teams

Good choice Nonis

The thing now is that Vigneault won't be going anywhere instead it will be the players that don't step up and perform so no more excuses, its go time!

Cheers

Assuming of course the GM gives him the right players to work with, which is still a question that needs to be answered. Hopefully Vigneault can get the ship righted again in Vancouver. The Canucks should be an interesting team to follow this offseason.

I was wondering if goal tending coach/consultant Ian Clark was in that bunch? Word is he is tight with Luongo.

He works part time for the Canucks, and his name wasn't mentioned

Just so you know, Rick Bowness has been hired as asst. coach

Right now I would rather see Anson Carter signed for another year, than an assistant coach, failing that a right winger with a finishing touch.

Oh yeah, as would I

I'm sure carter will resign. The guy has a multiyear deal in Vancouver(not with the Canucks)..

Plus, he's intelligent. He will not score 30 goals elsewhere

Scott Arniel was named head coach of the Moose

That's a great choice by the Canucks. Did you know that in the history of the Montreal Canadiens' coaches, Vigneault is ranked 9th all-time in wins, 7th in games and tied for 8th all-time in seasons coached? :thumb:

Seriously?

That is rather impressive, when you think of the entire Canadiens franchise.

That my friend still remains to be seen... You can't lose a great leader in Jovo and your top two right wingers who combined for 58 goals and 126 pts and be overly optimistic that the team has improved... at least not yet. Goals scoring could very well be their biggest challenge this upcoming season. They need Carter back! :thumb:

Oh for sure, they have lost quite a bit..

But..lets not forget..they have also lost a lot of PIM's

-Bertuzzi
-Ruutu
-Allen

This will mean more icetime for Naslund..among others..which means more goals

They still have to sign a top six winger..
