So PDO and I have both heard a rumour. It boils down to Victoria getting an AHL franchise, that team becomes the Canucks farm team. Manitoba then becomes the Oilers AHL team. Here is a link to some of the specualtion, there are others on differnt forums, but I don't want to break the SPAM rules here:

The current ECHL team in Victoria plays out of "Save-on-Foods" Arena managed by RG Properties who also own Prospera Place here in Kelowna. The arena Operations Manager here was recently transfered to Victoria and the speculation is because of this impending move. What do you think Canuck fans, or Oil fans?

Canucks just signed a three year extension with the Moose

So, I guess this was just a rumour

Edmonton needs a farm team, no doubt about that. Too bad the Roadrunner attempt in the city didn't work out. How about trying a team in the booming economy city of Fort McMoney? ;)

Thanks.

Too bad. This would have worked out for both teams. The Canucks would have got their affliate much closer (nice ferry ride for the players if they'd so choose) and the Oilers would once again have an AHL team in western Canada.

Oh well, time will tell.

Well part of it came to pass as the Canucks have signed a deal to make the Salmon Kings their ECHL farm team. No link but I heard anews report on this last night.
