I don't know how big of an impact this will be considering there is no LeBron James in the draft, but picking 1st overall is always great and with Bryan Colangelo at the helm we don't have to worry about Babcock picking a guy who was slated to go #42
Ever since this franchise fired Babcock, things have been slowly progressing, stealing Colangelo out of Phoenix and now winning the Lottery with only an 8.8% chance in the meantime. I guess when you're as low as we were, the only way to go is up, and so far so good :thumb: .

I kind of wanted to go a little lower so we could try for Redick but I'm not sure he can handle the NBA.
Either Morrison, Williams or Gay please.

Gotta go with Bosh's homeboy from Texas, Aldridge. He's a solid big man, can line up at the 5 for us, athletic enough to run the floor, and him, Bosh, and Charlie would give as a nasty front court.
I really like the SFs Morrison and Gay, but I'm not sure if Morrison would fit in with the offense we'll try to run, and while Gay has the athletic ability to fit in, he's just been so grossly inconsistent over his college career that I really wouldn't risk a first pick on him.
Don't rule out Colengelo picking that big (and incredibly weak) Italian kid too.

A lot of people have been talking about Aldridge aswell, I wouldn't mind him.
Talk about an air of confidence and winning attitude that Colengelo has brought to this team. If it were Babcock still leading (sic) this team, they wouldn't have had the luck they got last night. Good job, Raptors. Be smart with the pick.

Another Babcock blunder has been exorcised by new GM Colangelo:

Now I don't know what Babcock saw in Araujo, but whatever it was he clearly misjudged this guys potential and after 2 terrible season he finally gets the boot out of Toronto. Good to see him go to Utah though since that's where he played college ball and I really don't hold anything against him because it was Babcock's decision to draft him in front of a guy like Andre Iguodala. The Babcock legacy in Toronto is slowly being reversed and that's golden for the Raps :thumb:
There was a reason for the Raptors 2 for 1, Hoffa is better then both of what we got back. Mitchell couldn't coach himself out of a paper bag.

Balancing out the salaries probably had more to do with us getting two players back.
As for Hoffa, I hope he develops into a decent rotation player down the road. It's not his fault he got drafted in the lottery, when most projections had him going in the late teens/early 20s. He just wasn't a good fit in Toronto with Mitchell wanting a team that can run the floor, and with BC running the show he'll probably try to turn us into Phoenix East. Bosh will probably be our center, CV3 at PF, and either Bargani or Thomas at SF. Now all he needs to find is a pass first PG, and I heard he worked out Jay Williams recently :)
