The Vancouver Giants swept Moose Jaw to win thier first WHL championship and thus a bearth at this year's Memorial Cup. Congratualtions to Don Hay and his troops. With Moncton (under Ted Nolan) as host and QMJHL finalist Quebec ( under Patrick Roy) assured spots, the OHL needs to send on the winner of its finals between Peterborough and London.

Now for the rant. The Giants palyoff run has been all over the Vancouver media, which essentially means all over the province of BC. So much so you would think, if you were a casual observer, it was the first time a BC team had done this well in junior hockey. Forgetting of course the past successes of Kamloops, Kootenay and Kelowna in the past 10-15 years, or for that matter the great New Westminster Bruins of the late 70's. Oh well since the Canucks tanked I guess it is nice the media down there is paying attention to junior hockey fianlly.

The media down there? I think you mean the media to the west :thumb:

I totally agree. I'm almost sick of reading about it. Its good the Giants are doing well, but do I really care? No

Daniel "Danger" Ryder and the Peterborough Petes will win the Memorial Cup.I don't think so, but the City of Kitchener thanks them very much for sweeping the much hated London Knights in the OHL final. :thumb: I think the host Wildcats will win, but I'll be pulling for the OHL rep., because I don't like the WHL one.

The media is but not the fans as the Giants still can't sellout a game so while most people are happy the Giants are doing well they just don't care enough to watch them play and support them.Vancouver will always be about the Canucks!
