Well, it's all over for the St. John's Maple Leafs. As a Torontonian, I am looking forward to the team coming next season but I think it is best that we thank St. John's for keeping our Leafs for the amount of time they did and it's too bad that they had to go on these terms. For what it's worth to my Newfoundland friends, I am sorry that you guys are going to lose the team for good now, I know it isn't much and you probably will always hold bitter feelings toward the team from now on, but I do hope you remember how great you supported the team and that there was nothing that anyone of the Newfoundland fans could do to save it.
It's too bad that the Leafs went out in 5 games, since it would've been nice to see a late run in the playoffs as a swansong for the Newfoundland fans, but it wasn't meant to be and like most Leafs teams, when spring comes they get bounced so I guess it really isn't that shocking :mad:
