He's well on his way. He had a goal and and 3 assists tonight to give him 97 points on the year. If he keeps up his average PPG he should hit 100. He has quietly crept within 5 points of Ovechkin, who with two points tonight sits at 102.
It would be nice to see him crack 100. He has already played above most expectations, but the century mark would be an excellent milestone.

If I'm not mistaken, that would make him the youngest player in nhl history to get 100 points.

And yet people still ragg on this guy and he is an 18-19 year old kid. He is scoring and producing on a bad team in the NHL at an age where most guys are having trouble finding a date for thier High School grad.:rolleyes: Personally I think he will make it.
I hope he makes it.
He's really stepped it up in the last few games. Obviously he wants this.

The next questions are:
Can he catch Ovechkin?
If he does catch Ovechikin, does that give him the Calder?

He wont catch Ovechkin I predict. My guess is he will end the year with 101 points. Ovechkin with 106 or 107.
That being said this along with Jagr, Cheechoo, and Thornton all fighting for the Art Ross and Maurice Richard Trophies for the year will make an exciting finish to the year.

The wonder kid just got his third assist of the night v. NYI for points 98,99,100.
Congrats Sidney, on becoming the youngest 100 point scorer in league history. :thumb:

Well I guessed 101, and he has 4 periods left so he can only get 1 point in his remaining 4 periods now. :)
He's proved me wrong on the season as a whole. I thought he would be good, but never thought 100 points in a rookie season good. Way to play! And the kid has a pretty cool new commercial too.

He really turned it on down the stretch. I didn't think he was quite living up to the hype a while ago (not so much due to his play, but rather because of how high the expectations were), but with this run you gotta hand it to him. 100 points. He really kicked it up there! :thumb:
One more game left, let's see what he can do with it.

HE finished with 1 goal and 1 assist. He was passing the puck far too much. What a season for the Kid.

I was pretty close, 102 for Crosby, 106 for Ovechkin.
