Ottawa forward Peter Schaefer could be a highly sought after forward in this summer's UFA market, and could return to the Vancouver Canucks now that Brian Burke is no longer the GM. Schaefer maintains his off-season home in Vancouver.

Spector's Note: This'll happen only if the Canucks are unable to re-sign most of their key free agents, like Ed Jovanovski, Anson Carter, Alex Auld and the Sedin Twins. To retain all those players will eat up most of the Canucks available cap space in the off-season.

Pretty decent 3rd line..but I doubt this will happen

I actually had Kesler as the second line center. Personally I don't think they will sign Jovo for the money he thinks he will get. That creates some cap room there. If you based a guy's signing on where he has an off season home, then the Okanagan would have a pretty good hockey team.

I'm not sold on Kesler as more than a third line center. He has a lot of work to do, if he wants to be a 2nd line center.

On Jovo..its too bad. This guy has a lot of passion, especially in the playoffs. You never know, he may take a paycut..but chances are slim

The only problem about this is that Schaeffer is not an UFA this summer :D

Is he?

I've read that he is a RFA, and then I've read that he is a UFA

Some people say he is, and some people say he isn't
