How ironic, Huet is playing the goalie who is given a much better contract than the one he will be offered despite being just as old, having even less NHL experience, and being less impressive in his impressive spurt that won him his contract. The irony is delicious.

Huet made 32 saves in the shutout.
That is 6 shutouts in like 32 or 33 games. NO ONE in the league is even close to that average.

I am afraid you are so off target on this one you missed the entire map.

Huet now has 7 shut outs, second to Kipper. As for the contract well what would you do sign or take your chances after the season, as Howie Mandel sayes "Deal or No Deal?"
I have a freind who moderates the Montreal Canadiens forum on thier official site he finds the whole Abby-Huet discussion here hilarious.

HAha
I was just going to fix that.

It is 7 shutouts in 32 Games played.

That is roughly one shut out for every 4.5 games.

The Abby-Huet Discussion, it sounds so formal. :DIt is rather bizarre isn't it?

I did not say Thomas would outplay Huet, I said it was ironic Huet was playing the goalie who is even older than him, even less experienced in the NHL, less outstanding stat-wise, and has already signed a much better contract than the one Huet will be offered. That is all.

Basicaly though Thomas has even less NHL experience than Huet, and is just as old. So a contract of 3 years for 3.3 million for him vs 1 million for 1 year with Huet is telling. It means he gauranteed employment in the NHL three times as long, and 2 more years than Huet, and is gauranteed to make over 3 times as much money, and 2.3 million more than Huet. Thus Thomas>>Huet big time.

I have heard nobody suggest Thomas was overpayed when he got his contract yet it is now being said Huet would be overpayed to get more than 30% the same contract of a goalie who is just as old and has even less NHL experience.
