Giddy up, Ferret!

I'm for a pool, but I don't know if there will be more than the two of us picking.

Sneak peak at one of the picks: Rangers in four over the 'Sound.

Upset in K-Town!

The Attack beat the Rangers for the first time in 12 games tonight 3-2. Good thing is I'll be able to go to game five and watch Kitchener clinch the series.

Unbelievably enough Owen Sound beat Kitchener again by the same 3-2 score on Saturday night on another late goal.

So with the Rangers trailing 2-0 I decided to go to last night's game three where I sat in the best seat I have ever paid for at a hockey game. I was in the first row, right behind the Rangers' bench (and the building was packed with 6000 as always) - couldn't believe I got that ticket. Literally hearing coaches DeBoer and Spott talk to their guys and smelling the players sweat. *L*

And what a game it was! The Attack jumped to a 2-0 lead, but had their second goal waved off because it was kicked in (review took about 10 minutes). The Rangers got 2-1 and 3-2 leads in the third, only to have them come back, including the 3-3 goal scored with 1:08 to go. There were so many chances for both clubs in the first overtime, but no goals. So it went to double OT and about 2:30 in the Rangers' Mike Duco scored to ensure Kitchener still had a pulse going to Owen Sound tommorow night only down 2-1.

This is, so far, the best first round OHL series in recent memory.

Big upset in the KW...here's what's going on in each series::eek:

Down 3-2 with 20 seconds to go, Rangers tie it. Then the ref all of a sudden decides to start calling penalties in overtime - something they haven't done all playoffs! Attack score on the PP and win 4-3 to clinch 4-1.

It's unbelievable. No doubt one of the biggest upsets in Kitchener Ranger history. They came into this series having beaten the Attack 11 games in a row. There's no arguing that Owen Sound is far less talented than Kitchener (think about this: 3 of their top 4 D are first round NHL picks, their 4th is the captain and a 3rd rounder), but paper doesn't win hockey games and when a team has nothing to lose, they're dangerous.

The Rangers were built this year for a Memorial Cup run...uninspired hockey in about four and a half games killed them. They'll be no championship this year and September is a long time away.

Congrats OSA.
